Clearly its still very early days yet, but South do seem to be playing a much better game at the moment. Port threw everything they had at us to win the game in the second half and we did well to withstand the pressure and to kick on and win it at the same time. 8)

What an amazing final term it was as well...

With just 14 goals kicked total for the game up to the 3/4 time break, this is how it unfolded in that last quarter:

Goal - M.Lokan (PA) @ 4:20 = South by 21 pts

Goal - I.Irra (SA) @ 6:10 = South by 27 points

Goal - K.Beard (PA) @ 7:20 = South by 21 points

Goal - C.Miller (PA) @ 9:00 = South by 15 points

Goal - G.O'Keefe (SA) @ 10.30 = South by 21 points

Goal - L.Harder (PA) @ 11.50 = South by 15 points

Goal - A.Horne (SA) @ 15.10 = South by 22 points (there was also a point in there somewhere !!!)

Goal - L.Slattery (PA) @ 17:00 = South by 16 points

Goal - N.Daniel (SA) @ 21:40 = South by 22 points

Goal - J.Butcher (PA) @ 25:10 = South by 16 points

Goal - N.Liddle (SA) @ 26:00 = South by 22 points

Goal - J.Butcher (PA) @ 27:30 = South by 16 points

SIREN - 28.40 minute mark = South victory by 16 points

12 goals in total kicked in the last term, South kicking 5 and Port getting 7 for an amazing quarter of footy !!!

(No bloody wonder I had trouble keeping up on here ;) )

Thanks guys and girls, I'm going home to see my wife now :D

Congrats Panthers. It must have been a huge turnaround from last week.
Good to see Stribling get amongst it after a disappointing game last week.
What was the crowd like? Any figures here?

Just got back home.

Very happy with the win. Stribling absolutely amazing game tonight....would have to get the 3 votes. Staring with the Panthers this year.
Horne, Daniel and Cross great as well.

Really good direct football from South but I was a little worried with Port coming back at us in the last half of the game. I will give them credit for that.

South seemed to quick for Port. Port really seemed to get their game together when they actually start to use the corridor and kick direct....cant work out why they did not from the start.

It was great South did not panick too much under the pressure of Port.

I dont usually say this as I think its a cop out but some of the umpiring decisions tonight may I say were "puzzling". One umpire making a decision with another one coming in to "Overturn" it. The holding the ball rule was also used too much and many decisions made when it was clear the ball was not held into the player. Rant over.

Great win. Good to get the points.

The atmosphere was also good. Fireworks, good live band at half time and end of the game. I thought it worked really well but I am sure there will be the negative people out there that bag it. Full credit to South for putting on a great show...:)
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

This happened a few times at the Parade last week, in situations where the controlling umpire should have had the best view and been in the best position to adjudicate

I did not "get it" at all.......you are right the first ump had the best view. Is this a new thing this year overturning other umpires decisions as I have never seen much of it before???? :? Very frustrating to watch.

:? What would you prefer? an eastern suburbs football comp playing in far reaching suburbs between Walkerville & Unley Park. South Adelaide play South Of Adelaide...no huge surprises there.

No Glenelg this week, so I went along and saw a really good game of footy.
South were dynamite in the first. Port clawed their way back to challenge in the last. But South good enough hold on.
Plenty to be excited about for South fans.
Port showed that they still have the old never say die attitude, but South were too quick for them it seemed.

Noarlunga was great under lights. Nice night for footy, fireworks, band. Really entertaining evening.
I think they have the mix right. (maybe get rid of the music after goals)
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

Port Adelaide were absolutely INEPT in the first quarter, from the Captain down!

I went out at quarter time to voice my disapproval and listen to Tony Bamford. Apparently I needn't have bothered because my Mates on the hill heard every word he screamed. Perhaps Tony and Matty Primus should get together and compare notes on Quarter time gee ups.

Even second quarter and finished over South in the second half but the damage was done. Put a Banner or Summerton in the side and we probably would have won.
