Yeah but none of those games interest us and we don't need a Blu ray or media player.

Are the graphics/sound noticeably different between the 2 on a big screen?

(Personally I don't see the appeal in either compared to a PC which is my "console" of choice)

Get an XBOX Wedgie. Then I can shoot ya in the face with my pistol.

Have an XBOX and a PS3. Have hardly played a PS3 game. Just doesn't do it for me. Crappy interface, terrible voice comms, and graphically, the XBOX comes out on top more often than not. Plus you may pay for XBOX Live (look out for specials though like 12months for the price of 6), but it is just so much easier to join games with people on your friends list. The other thing that gets my goat up is the constant updating on the PS3. If you need any more reasons, just ask.

The range of quality games that are exclusive for the PS3, far outweigh any other reason to buy the XBOX.

Too bad most of the PS3 exclusive games are nothing special. The only exclusive game worth a go is Uncharted:Drakes Fortune

Free PSN - With limited access. Have to pay for something that resembles XBOX live.
Rechargeable control - Available on XBOX also
Wireless - Available on XBOX also
Insert the disc (rather than the 90's version tray) -
The motion controller is mapped to the dead centre of the screen from any angle (not PS Move motion) - Kids are the only ones that enjot it. XBOX has Kinect.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Boring weird Japanese game that makes no sense
inFamous - Meh
Gran Turismo - Forza Motorsport 3
Killzone - Dime a dozen
MAG - Actually bought this game. Took it back in a week. Terrible controls

Then the other stuff, Blu-Ray, Media etc.

Average Blu Ray player, Sony's strict region protection, and Media is just as hit and miss as on the XBOX.

Arguably the best game on the 360 is Call of Duty (Why??? )......that's on PS3.

So you have never heard of -

Gears Of War 1,2
FABLE 2,3
Alan Wake
Project Gotham Racing
Crackdown 1,2

COD is also arguably the best game on the PS3, coincidence? The guys I play COD with on the 360, all agree the multiplayer is better on the 360 than the PS3.

I honestly don't know why anyone would buy a 360.

Because it's a GREAT GAME CONSOLE.

It's all good Wedgie. Just love stirring up the fanboys. They go on the attack whenever an XBOX is mentioned, and post absolute garbage. Which ever way you go, I'm sure you and the lad will enjoy it. Although if you know someone who has a certain console, it makes online play much more enjoyable. Was going to trade some games in, but am happy to send them your way for nix.

Good article, even if it's a little old. The xbox suits my needs as I just want a games console with a great multiplayer interface and support.

I'd be willing to pay for a better service.
I fork out about $40 a month for 2 wow accounts and a tunelling service, the $5 pm for Xbox live isn't an issue.

But yeah, I am taking into account he cost of Gold X box live but it's still winning the race versus the PS3 for my potential money as none of the PS3 "pros" mentioned have any benefits for me.
Mind you if it was just for me Id stick withe PC which IMHO is by far the best gaming "console" around.
I can understand how kids like the shiny controllers and big screen TVs though.
Give me my logitech keyboard and Razor mouse any day though!

I would rather game on the pc also, but the xbox is good on the plasma and home theater.

With the online service you get what you pay for. Games developed for xbox live have to meet strict standards set by Microsoft, where as PS3 games are left to the game developer to do as they choose.

Having had both consoles from release date, xbox wins hands down in online play. Rarely get lag, simple to join games with friends. PS3 is another story. But then again, what do you expect for free. By the way, if you want something that is even remotely close to the xbox live experience, you have to pay on the PS3 also.

I've used both consoles and found both thoroughly good products.
Really rated the Xbox Kinect - that was a real entertainer.
I'm a fan of the PS3 though, just coz I'm a creature of habit I guess.

My fave games on PS3 (in no particular order:

FIFA 11
Unchartered: Drakes Fortune
God of War III
Red Dead Redemption
The Godfather II
Stranglehold (really rated this one)

Dont know if you're referring to region protection on blu ray or games but PS3 games dont have region protection...you can buy games from anywhere and they work on any PS3...

not sure if the blu rays are region protected though.
