I learnt very quickly that train is better than tram when it comes to getting to that part of Melbourne. The trams (particularly route 70) can't cope with a half full Hisense Arena, so I shudder to think how they cope with MCG crowds.

Richmond train station is only a short walk, and coped very well on Friday night when Olympic Park, AAMI Park, Hisense Arena and the MCG were all in use.

paying $22 for 2 tiny batteries for the roller door controllers.

i couldve bought a couple packs of AA batters and just squashed one down to fit for that price.

I was umpiring a game at Camberwell so I didn't have much choice.
Either that or carry my huge bag 3/4 of a KM up Glenferrie Road to the train station.

How the new holding the ball rule seems to be turning our once great game into something that resembles rugby union. (not that i have anything against union...not my cup of tea though)
No one wants to pick the ball up, when they attempt to 10 blokes pile on and the poor sucker who does the hard work (which is probably what they have been doing since they were 5) gets done for not making an effort to get it out...either that or it leads to 10 quick handballs around in circles half of which are throws (none of which get penalised) and about 1 of those 10 hits a target...any wonder the crowds are down the game is tuning to crap! (IMO anyway)
Trust the process.

Bummer.

Has happened to me before (computer crash) and I now backup photos monthly to disk, which I then keep at work just in case the house burns down.

The accoustics in the Festival Theatre.

Actually the Festival Theatre is in desperate need of a facelift, the 1972 decor has not aged well at all.
