At the centre bounces it might have been pin the tail on the donkey with Allan
But in general field play it was hide and seek
I disagree with your Junk Time PA goal summation, in this game
Why is nearly always when this happens
Using today as an example
NA 15-9
PA 8-11
PA kick the last 2 goals, and it is often said it was junk time, NA were relaxing , took foot of pedal etc etc
NA 15-9
PA 10-11
OR
NA kick the last 2 goals and win, and it is often said NA killed them off, or PA gave up, etc etc
NA 17-9
PA 10-11
I saw it this way, PA gave me vertigo all day watching em criss cross , go side ways, and being as indirect as possible in a game of footy
Then in the last 10 minutes today they decided to play more corridor footy, go longer and direct and got a couple of good late goals
JUNK TIME GOALS
Point being
A;When a good, or the winning team kicks goals in 4th qtr junk time it is said its good or great footy
B; When a bad or a losing team kicks goals in the 4th qtr junk time, its often said becoz the other team eased up
Perhaps about 65% of the time its A and not B
BUT
Today PA played well in the last 10 minutes , and thats why they got Junk goals
Port may have played well in the last 10 minutes but North definitely took the foot off the pedal. As well as having the injured Tony Armstrong off the field the interchange bench was Jimmy Allan and George Thring, North's best defender today. North's full forward line included Ackland and Mason, our two ruckmen and Daniel Stewart was doing the rucking. North's centre square for the last 10 minutes was Stewart Teasdale, D Armstrong and Bennett a far cry from the strong centre square that North had for most of the day.
