I don't know if this was the last time, but I recall 1976-77 was a shocking year for SA. I think we were beaten outright in the first 6 matches (most by an Innings) but then we had a Tie against Queensland, and then finished with a draw.

This was the season Hookes made his 5 centuries in 6 innings. We were motherless last .. after winning the Shield the previous season!!!

All we have heard is words about finishing well, not that far away, etc etc. We must simply be not good enough and need to withdraw until our grade comp is rectified and strenghtened. Agreed, the scary part is I don't think the players or coaches know what the problem is so roll out those lines. As mentioned they are just not good enough and are an embarrassment to our state. This must be the end of Flipper, if he wasn't already gone.
