Round 3 - CD v Panthers @ Elizabeth - 2.10pm Sat 16/4/11

Postby GWW » Sun Apr 10, 2011 7:24 pm

The Panthers have showed some promising signs in the first 2 rounds and they will fancy themselves a "silly chance" against the reigning premiers this week. Playing on the Bulldogs' home ground is still the most difficult task in SANFL footy though, so I would expect Centrals to notch up their first win for the year.

My tip - Centrals by 29 points

i saw both teams play this week & south obviously looked heaps better & their pace will hurt central but they basically don't lose at home or lose two in a row & will bounce back & redeem themselves from last weeks abysMAL effort...central by 3-4 goals
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Will be great to welcome back James Gowans, Jay Nash, Brayden O'Hara and possibly Ricky Henderson.

Will be alot better for the run friday night, nothing but a win is acceptable here.

If I can't watch North v Port, then this game is the other I want to see. Hopefully South can give this game a shake.

South by 6pts. ;)

Dogs by 80+ points.

Panthers to commence new 17 game losing streak.

Roy Laird on the 5AA SANFL Show tonight said that Central will be making a few changes for Saturday's game with South. I'd suspect the likes of Nash, O'Hara and J.Gowans will come in while maybe a Luke Barmby or Tom Dunne will be considered as well?

A couple of players deserve to be dropped from the league.

A couple of reserves players deserve to come up such Hynes and Dunne as they look good in the reserves.

We do WCP and I cant wait......Im sure Clarrie is bitter and twisted from his sides poor start to the season and is resorting to low grade humour to cover his pain. .

Centrals at Elizabeth after their massive loss to Westies......it does worry me. A great challenge though for the Panthers.
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

I'll be in Melbourne for most of this week, but I'm flying back on a Jetstar redeye (6am flight now) on Saturday morning so I can get to this game (flights at a decent hour were too expensive unless I wanted to take a chance on Tiger). I know I'm preaching to the converted here, but in light of Les Stevens' open letter to Members and Supporters (, if I can get to the game, so can many, many more others.

First home game of the year and the flag unfurling are just two more reasons to make it to the game on Saturday. South are a vastly improved side - they should have belted North on Saturday night if it wasn't for poor kicking and if they hadn't fallen asleep in the third quarter against the Eagles they'd be 2-0. I don't expect this to be the usual romp we're accustomed to against South at home.

I'd expect some wholesale changes to the line up from Friday night with our reserves having a decent win with several league players. Also, don't be surprised if Ricky Henderson and possibly Brad Symes returns to us after Adelaide's even more insipid effort on Saturday. I'd also expect the side to respond to last week's pathetic effort strongly and will put in a vastly improved effort. They will hit back and hit back hard.

A combination of these two will see us win by 25 points.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Indeed!

A win over the almighty Roosters should give Panthers supporters great reason to be optimistic about season 2011...

Can't wait for round 7.
