Won't need to for their first game.

They could do something Centrals can't do. Win 2 cups in the 1 year.

They probably wont play their strongest side as they play the following Thursday night

so what's the point?

Teams have won two competitions in the same year before, so it's not a huge deal. The huge deal is the main one. That's a good question for a quiz actually, thanks for the idea. :)

the prizemoney is far outweighed by the chance of obtaining a long-term injury in an insignificant event. We will change the globes next year.

I think Centrals have found out in the last couple of weeks that an injury can occur anywhere at anytime. Sometimes the footy field is a better place to be.

What's more dangerous. Playing footy or tying one on in Hindley St on a Saturday night?

The sad thing is we will never know who is right as West, Port and North were never serious contenders for a flag this year. Not saying it couldn't happen, but without Centrals, Norwood or WWT competing, it will remain an unknown.

Alan wasn't "tying one on on Hindley Street", it was at the Marble Bar on Waymouth Street & he was hit without provocation, whilst going to the aid of someone that was being bashed by a group of people.

The same prizemoney that equates to $200 per game, per player, IF you win the comp? Some reasons why a club should participate can be debated, but playing for the cash to improve club facilities isn't one of them.

Sound advice.
