I really do hope Tailem do become very competitive.

I think the comp is starting to tighten right up - Mannum Imps and Ramblers are setting the benchmark but I don't think Meningie are that far behind now, and Jervois have obviously recruited well and will only get better... Wouldn't it be great to go to the footy every week with no idea who is going to win.... I still think Mypo and Tailem are a bit below especially the top 4, but with some good recruiting they will catch up quickly.

FWIW what was the score in the Tailem/Peake trial on the weekend??

Jervois v Mypolonga result was an interesting 1. Spoke to- lets just say "a bloke in the know" & he said Mypo had 5 out, of which 3 would be in their best 10. So to nearly snatch it was a good effort, especially on the Bloods home turf.

Mannum were just too good for most of the day, but a few of them need some Km's in their legs. Still that only sits badly for the rest of the comp, because they are only going to get fitter!

Imps v Meningie- Thought this would be much closer infact I thought the Bears would win at Home! Guess Imps are better then I thought or The Bears aren't as good.

He would have to be the most selfish player in the comp. I think they would be better off with out him. For the teams sake anyway.

Hit the nail on the head Goldy. I look forward to reading Dalwood every week despite not agreeing with alot of the stuff he writes. Some times I think he gets the bite he is after. The key is to not take the trash talk too seriously and have a bit of fun with it.

By the way, The Murray Valley Standard is a fantastic read, I would recommend it to you all. ;)

I always thought it was funny even when i was on the end of it. As long as its not personal, play on. Its his job to write crap that sells papers and most people by the local country paper for the sport section. Yes he has small mans syndrome but he loves the rmfl and will do anything for it.

My tips for this week:

Imperials v Jervois - Imps to win the night game by 51-60

Mypolonga v Meningie - should be the closest match of the round, I'll select the Bears by 11-20 but really could go either way

Tailem Bend v Mannum - Mannum too much depth for the Eagles, but Tailem will put up a better effort than last year. Will be interesting if Wark and Hall stand each other. Roos 71-80

Round two tips

Blues vs Bluds - With a couple big names to make there way back into the Imps side this week i dont think they will have to much trouble in beating the Bluds. 40-50 points.

Tigers vs Bears - If the Bears play the same brand of footy they played last week i would not be surprised to see the Tigers beat them. But i think they will bounce back and just get over the Tigers in a close one under 13 points.

Eagles vs Roos - Lets all hope the the Eagles have improved from last year. But really cant see them troubling the Roos at all. Roos by plenty 80+

Imps did not expect Honnor to play until at least after Easter due to shoulder reconstruction. Why would they risk playing him so early?? They should beat Jervois without him. Surely there are bigger fish to fry.

I totally agree they wont need him to beat Jervois and probly shouldnt risk him. All i was told is that he was wanting to play next week so i am assumming that means this week. Not sure how much truth is behind it but that is what i was told.

Was speaking to Jamie on Saturday - he said he reckons he would be right for this week but can't play next week and then its Easter so he was going to wait to play after Easter.
