Hahahaha - yeah I think it was an old oak tree. Cant miss it, theres a sign on the door.
Anyway back to footy - Please can anyone shed any light on the Gawler Central camp for me? Ins/outs - hows the lads shaping up to the new coach? Who I might add got the sack from Seaton a couple of seasons ago after taking them to the GF, thing is a group of key players said they would not play again if he coached.

Pressure on blockies

:?: What is wrong with Tanunda

For many years i have looked at TANUNDA and the players they have and have be amazed at the results espeically the past two years, The clubs decision to re appoint Lubke was interesting, After a horrid stint at Barossa. Its would have to be now or never for Lubke

Caught up with a mate last night tied up with the Virgina Rams, The story goes that a Gawler Centrals Player signed with them 3 weeks ago, the clearance was sent in, next minute the player is at the SANFL for advice on how to get out of the agreement with the Rams, to stay with Centrals.

Note to player

If you sign with a club be honest to both clubs and follow thru, You can't sign with one club to improve the deal with your current club, Otherwise this means players can COOKE up deals all over the place putting more pressure on all ready struggling country clubs...

barossa and light has more to talk about than this subject
i believe 2007 will be exciting and better than 2006
willaston will be the side....have recruited new and past players back to the club at least 10
barossa will still be there even though loosing quite a few quality players
freeling have lost players but will be still a contender....can they mentally get over last year
kapunda with a fully fit list will do well
centrals with a new coach will start slow but will be cominhg home
south after last year have picked up some handy ones, is it true coombes is back if so herzick hasnt been true to his word
tanunda interesting will they live up to their ability
nuri.....improvers
angaston...in for long year
cooke from kapunda .......leading goalkicker
mccarthy kapunda to recapture 2005 form and win another medal to his trophy cabinet
what do others think on the predictions

151 i get the impression you are a Oconnor fan and that's great but there are many valid points made in this thread which has been presented . Id have to agree with most and add that any mug can coach a premiership with a open cheque book and more import concession's then any other club in the league .

Whoever mentioned his name to coach Sturt next year should have a good look at themselves ...........
What i dont know about football isnt worth knowing .

Haffey
as a pationate BLG fan affiliated with a Gawler club I have to commend the Barossa Scouts and O'Connor. To take a side from bottom to top in two years is a special effort in what I would consider to be the best Country Football League. Having been beaten by the Barossa Side three times last year and with just five imports I commend them on getting their locals back to the club playing as much as it hurts me to say.

So Haffey as much as I enjoy these forums my real concern is boofheads such as yourself get on here and make comments made on either jealousy or ill informed facts...

brad.beaten 3 times ???? well then you are a Centrals man
You are right Barossa had 5 imports to freeling's 9
Open cheque book ??????? all country clubs are struggling, so i am not sure wethere that comment is correct either
All i am saying is get onto comments more constructive to the league
Like or hate ocka....who cares

Inter Association Football Question
Should Barossa pick their best side or contimue with the rule of playing ex amount of under 21 year olds
My suggestion would be
Play the Best Side and the leed up game should be a under21 and a under 17
The league talks about being the best and havent won the game for the last 3 years

His first name is Kym Herman - is he really that bad now? used to be a champion player! I think he took Hamley Bridge to a GF a couple of times as a playing coach.

Injuries taken toll.

Deadset I used to play with Kym at Gawler Centrals - he was a very hard nosed player. Not overally skilled but a real work horse who gets results and lifts teams with his courage and ability to get the hard ball. He has been getting big injuries ever since he started playing footy!
Im suprised he hasn't retired but in saying that I reckon he will play forever!
