I didn't realise that. What was the story there?

Being a young'un at the time, I only have sketchy information. I have asked Trigg himself once (at the 2000 GF after party which he MC'd at Elizabeth) and his words were "You'll have to ask Cowboy". From what I understand, he was simply deemed to be not part of the plans.Adelaide Hawk wrote:smac wrote:Trigg was given marching orders at Centrals by 'Cowboy' Neale.

Trevor Pierson (West to Woodville ... maybe other way around) - correc the first time
Phil Harrison (North to Port) - didn't he come from Geelong?
Simon Neave (Norwood to Torrens) - hardly a regular at Norwood(?)
Keith Kuhlmann (West to Glenelg) - good one
Laurence Schache (Sturt to Eagles) - another good one

I don't think this is correct because I'm pretty sure he wasn't at Woodville in 1974, 1975. You may be right LL, I know he was originally from Broken Hill. He may have gone back there for 2 years.

From memory he went back to Broken Hill after his stint at Woodville because he didn't enjoy city life. I think Oberon Pirak had a connection with Broken Hill (he may even have come from there) and brought him back down. He was indeed swapped for Ken Deards, a well-credentialled Western Australian back pocket player who didn't fire a shot for us. I can remember seeing Meuret play for Woodville's Reserves on TV (it may even have been in a finals game) and his unique talent was clearly evident then.
