I'm getting rid of my old BBQ, which has become a palatial mansion for the backyard redbacks.

However, I need to know how or where I can safely dispose of the gas bottle, as you can't chuck those in the normal garbage or hard rubbish..

anyone?

This bottle is no doubt a bomb waiting to go off - I don't want to take it in my car and it's probably in no condition that swap and go would want it.

If you want it to go quickly put a price label on it. Always hearing stories of people who put stuff out with 'free, help yourself' and was left untouched for weeks but as soon as they put '£10' it's been 'stolen' overnight

Try one of the places that re certifies them after the expire, the gas place that does car LPG on South Rd at Hindmarsh (between Manton St/Grange Rd and Adam St) does them, I reckon they would take it for nothing and either make it good for re sale or at worst, empty it and dispose of it
