the president v david hicks on sbs

Anything!

Theres more to the story than what we've been told through the media. There has to be a reason why he is housed in the maximum security section of the prison and away from 90% of the other people in there.

As for the 5 year without a trial thing, its probably lucky he has waited so long to go to trial, or he'd have been killed off a few years ago.

Watch all the do gooders and rent-a-crowd mourners come out of the woodwork when he does finally get dispatched.
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

SCAPEGOAT :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

I will not pass comment on guilty or not guilty.
Many of you might find this hard to believe but even MAL does not know the facts.

One pertinence MIGHT be he is being made to look the scapegoat.
If this is the punishment for being in a Taliban outfit, then maybe it will
put off the next gunna be coulda be person who may want involvement.

Is the USA and stablemates sending a message to the world :?: :?: :?: :?:
Involve yourself with a percieved enemy and face the consequences :?:
Even if HICKS is innocent the precedent is now set, do not involve with the enemy.

Sojourner wrote:Stepping back and looking at this situation, it occured to me that Labor could lose the election if they keep pressuring for Hicks to be brought back to Australia.

The media very much like to play "Good Cop, Bad Cop". At present the media is saturated with how unfair it is that Hicks is in detention.

Yet what happens when A Current Affair or similar start to focus, as they will on Hicks and what he is into? Say they repeat some of what Hicks is reported to have said in relation to the terrorising and killing of Jewish people. If the tide turns and Hicks is portrayed as Labor's pin up boy, Liberal are a chance to do it for a fourth time and consecutively increase their winning margin over 16 seats.

If Hicks is found guilty of training with Al-Queda, or fighting with the Taliban or both, then it is clearly treason with intent to harm and he should recieve the same punishment that Van Nugen got in Singapore and be hung at dawn. Some of his filth that he has said in the public forum was read out recently on 5RPH, when people become no different to animals, they should be treated as such. Go and ask Andrew Knox's family what they think of Al-Queda and how they should be dealt with.

You've hit the nail on the head.

The Howard government will let the Labor party ride this wave for a little longer and let David Hicks become their pinup boy and one of their campaign focuses. Then about a month before the election the government will drop the bombshell over what he has really been up to (don't worry the public only gets Terry Hick's version of events) and the labor party will look like a bunch of idiots.

You're a genius :!:

Imagine how much money we could save if we dispensed justice on that basis from now on.

Your faith in the judgement of George W Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, etc should be an inspiration to us all

And to think there are a large number of supposedly intelligent people throughout the world who think Hicks is an idiot, but deserves a fair trial.

You've trumped them in one fell swoop. :D

You are very passionate about your views R&B. Notice you are less than sympathetic about others though.

Does that mean you and those that think that way are right and the rest of us are racist unsympathetic unthinking ignorants. Sounds like it.

I'm sure we're all passionate about our views, Coorong.

The second line is your interpretation only. I've just joined in the debate and put my point of view, as others have put theirs. I'm sure they don't feel that they need your protection.

David Hicks

Worlds worst terrorist, wannabe once, but now the bush beret would have smashed the kids will and mind to bits.

The israilee army can kill innocent woman and children on a regular basis and it was a mistake by their intelligence service on A VERY REGULAR BASIS (a true act of terrorism) yet George Bush and his board of boof heads just dont care about their ali's cold blooded murder.

Hicks should be sent home and do time, but to put him through what he has been through is an injustice. we have people who have killed, raped and molested in adelaide and australia that dont recieve that time, the guy was a misguided idiot but did not kill anyone.

Study up on the record of the USA and you will be shocked.

i agree 100% with R&B

EVERYONE deserves the right to a fair trial.

If (and presumably when) he is found guilty throw the book at him.

And that is exactly what his supporters are saying.

His Dad is not suggesting that he's innocent.
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

sad but true

Postby dash61 » Tue Feb 27, 2007 9:48 pm

With work i did 2 months of once a week first aid training (FACT), i would hate to use it in an emergency because it drifted in one ear and out the other

America backed Sadam Hussain (FACT), do we want them all put in guatamono bay, NO, they made a mistake and did not pay for that, hicks made a BAD error of judgement and must pay his debt to society but not to be treated like a pig in a pen.

Bevan spencer von eiman committed a lot worst atrocities than hicks and he gets a computer and three good meals a day

Hairy eyed brow howard must demand hicks be brought back to australia to a prison and can be sent back to the US for trial and returned to serve his sentance in australia.

We are all humans and deserve to be treated like human beings, not a pig in a pen.

If the US could get oil out of david hicks they would protect and love him instead
