Sojourner wrote:Stepping back and looking at this situation, it occured to me that Labor could lose the election if they keep pressuring for Hicks to be brought back to Australia.
The media very much like to play "Good Cop, Bad Cop". At present the media is saturated with how unfair it is that Hicks is in detention.
Yet what happens when A Current Affair or similar start to focus, as they will on Hicks and what he is into? Say they repeat some of what Hicks is reported to have said in relation to the terrorising and killing of Jewish people. If the tide turns and Hicks is portrayed as Labor's pin up boy, Liberal are a chance to do it for a fourth time and consecutively increase their winning margin over 16 seats.
If Hicks is found guilty of training with Al-Queda, or fighting with the Taliban or both, then it is clearly treason with intent to harm and he should recieve the same punishment that Van Nugen got in Singapore and be hung at dawn. Some of his filth that he has said in the public forum was read out recently on 5RPH, when people become no different to animals, they should be treated as such. Go and ask Andrew Knox's family what they think of Al-Queda and how they should be dealt with.

Does that mean you and those that think that way are right and the rest of us are racist unsympathetic unthinking ignorants. Sounds like it.
