I was thinking he'd be playing a key position (CHB or CHF) given Tailem are a bit short of tall blokes. Did they have any key position types in either attack or defence?

So you're saying those two alone are worth the 40 goals they're behind the top teams?

I think 20-25 goals behind is a more accurate reflection on how far behind Tailem Bend where last year mate.

Anyway, it's not just the accusation of the two Sturt players that will see improvement at Tailem Bend this year. There are a handful of other new players that may have slipped under the radar and the role of the younger Eagles is different.

We are coming from a very long way back but don't write us off completely from being competitive.

Mannum (a side widely predicted to run top) v Tailem Bend (predicted wooden spooners) will be a telling game this weekend in just how far the top to bottom gap will be this year.

They'll definitely improve, I tend to get excited. its great for the competition for the lower placed teams of 2010 to have recruited so well. I think the floggings of last year are no longer. A couple of upsets makes the ladder all that more interesting!

Tailem MIGHT get close to teams like mypo and jervois but they will get FLOGGED this week and every other week against Mannum, Imps and Ramblers... It's not hard for a ruckman and midfielder to look good against Peake it's another story against even a half decent side...

Only time will tell. I will just say it's not beyond us to kick a decent score against good sides - like it was last year.

these 2 blokes are very good footballers and will stand out every game that tailem play. At no stage did i say tailem were going to set the world on fire but they will be much better side than last year and these 2 blokes will take some stopping but hey they only played peake hey mr willy its easy to look good against them nothing to do with where they played last year hey?

It doesn't matter where they played last year... If they are as good as you say they were they will be heavily targetted by the good teams who will nullify their effect...

I still think Tailem will struggle to win a game this year... I think the two teams they would be eyeing off wins against would be either Mypo or Jervois and both are better sides this year and I'm not sure two quality players are going to make up the difference Tailem were behind last year, plus a bit more to get ahead of the extra quality at Mypo or Jervois.

They might jag a win or two against a very undermanned side....

Jervois were a 4 point better side and mypo a 6 goal better side than Tailem last year. Willy - you'll be very suprised in my opinion. It's not as if we only have two new players (one of which is likely to be the best in the comp.) There are plenty of other new faces. Time will tell.

I'm with you Moleman time will tell, what I saw of them against Peake there are quite a few new players, one of them is flying completely under the radar. Wark, Bowen, Love & Karpany have certainly added depth to a side that really required it. But only time will tell.
