Having my family living interstate or overseas I thought it would be a good way to keep in touch with them. The problem was that I don't really care about what they had for breakfast, or which of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles they would be. I also hated the way it was used to keep me informed of engagements, major health issues etc. Some things require a phone call.![]()
Now, along with the old fashioned telephone, I just use skype or email to see how they're going.

I've taken the Devil's Advocate position on most subjects since, at about 14, I read John Milton's description of him in Paradise Lost, ending ".. his massy shield, behind him cast, hung o'er his shoulder like the moon."
I was also a great fan of Mephistopheles in Marlowe's "Dr Faustus".
