never in doubt :D

seriously though i thought sturt were magnificent for the first three terms, especially the middle two of the match, they ran in numbers, they chased they tackled, they had a superior skill level (they did all the things i wanted glenelg to do who were sparkless), i don't know if rubbers' lemon time address did it or the little biffo we saw early in the last term but the spark, run & intensity all happened, why didn't it happen at 4.10pm is beyond me........sturt did prove one thing today & that is they wont be the easybeats that some think they'll be, glenelg proved that we're a good side but must play 4 quarters to win as you can't make up 8 goals in a term every week & well done to the 5,000+ that went today which added to a great atmosphere
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Sturt smashed us (for 3 qtrs), then I witnessed one of the best come from behind wins I can remember. I'm still buzzing. Can't believe we could be so bad and then produce such an amazing turn around.

A 4 qtr effort next week please.

C'mon, where is "cue spelly!"

It's the equal sixth greatest comeback from three quarter time; the equal best comeback by Glenelg at that stage, and the 2nd biggest lead Sturt have blown.

Code: Select all
47   Port   7   9   51   Norwood   14   14   98   17   1930   Alberton
46   West   4   10   34   Sturt   11   14   80   15   1932   Showgrounds
46   Sturt   3   7   25   Glenelg   10   11   71   10   1963   Adelaide
42   Sturt   9   8   62   South   16   8   104   15   1968   Unley
42   Central   8   5   53   North   15   5   95   3   1996   Elizabeth
41   Torrens   12   8   80   West   19   7   121   3   1933   Showgrounds
41   Glenelg   10   10   70   Norwood   17   9   111   10   1936   Glenelg
41   Glenelg   4   12   36   Sturt    11   11   77   1   2011   Glenelg

Some research may be required to find out if those leads were extended past 47 points to see if it is the equal greatest comeback after three quarter time.

Also, that's the best last quarter by Glenelg versus Sturt, it was 10.6 (66) to 1.1 (7) in Round 7 1995 at Glenelg.

You're not alone!

Ultimately of course it's all about the win and the Bays showed a lot of self belief to get up in the last term. But what do both teams take out of a game like that? Does a disappointed Sturt take at least some solace out of the fact that a young team not expected to be competitive were actually superb for 3 quarters? Would the premiers-fancied Bays be overly worried about how dreadful they were before finally living up to potential and coming out to play in the last?

Bah. Well done Bays. Weird, weird game that :?

Gobsmacked.

To think I was awake at 3:30am to get sms updates for this, in a shitty hotel with even shittier wifi.
I recall that someone mentioned fitness during the trials.. But...WTF?
