Yep agree, whilst im shattered that a midfield gun for my SC team is out, it would have been foolish to play him

Salopek has also been ruled out of the power with a hamstring strain. Mooney and Lonergan join selwood in the geelong ommissions column.

LMAO. Bartel is playing of course.

Why would you choose Selwood over Bartel? Bartel was always underpriced by comparision. Burn those trades boys BURN THOSE TRADES.

Liking the selection for Geelong this week. Lonergan and Mooney are too slow to take to Perth and no risks with our gun midfielder.

I won't be pulling the trigger. Scored alright without him last week, I'll just bring in the GC boys and roll the dice again. Early days, no need to panic.

I wouldn't be either. You've selected Selwood to be a keeper so you'd be pretty daft to take my tongue in check advice above. As for me, I reckon Selwood might take a while to get going and that his low score from round one will now stay in his rolling average for four weeks if you include the match he misses this week. That gives me an extra week for me to identify a midfield cash cow. It would be sweet juicy points if I could snaffle Selwood on the cheap in Round six or seven for someone like a Tom Libratore. *insert evil manicial laugh here*

I think he has Selwood too. Given that neither of us will make trades this week, our premiums will stay the same...guess it's just a mtter of which rookies we're gonna play.

Did you know he was going to get KO'd?

If he didn't he probably would've scored the winning goal NOT Milburn and had 150+ points and we'd all be sitting back patting ourselves on the back for picking him.

He'll be back and better than ever in Round 3.

Of course not. Do you know he'll be back and better than ever in Round 3. No. And no point using the If word. You can deal with 'if' I'll deal with what is......Bartel underpriced, Selwood not.

I picked Selwood over Bartel because I had the feeling Selwood would turn himself into a super-premium (ala GAJ & BJ), whereas I felt Bartel would probably still only average about 110PPG.

Oh, and I made a little edit to the thread title for ya REB

Nice work Q.

I'm hoping that Selwood does become a super premium....after dropping a few grand first. Bartel had the bigger room for improvement I thought.

Seeing in 2010 Bartel averaged 102 & Selwood 118 I'm interested how you came to the conclusion.

Bartel spent a lot of time out of midfield last year. With Gary gone Bartel will have a greater midfield role. The last time Bartel was in midfield on a regular basis he averaged a lot more than 102 = Bartel underpriced. A change in role is what SuperCoach players should be looking for when seeking potential bargains.

Last year when Jordan Lewis got cleaned up he took quite a few weeks to recover and return to his best form. If the same thing happens to Selwood he might not return to his normal 118 ways for a few weeks. This means his price will drop and when it does that's when I'll use one trade to pick up Selwood at a cheap price to go with the bargain I already have in Bartel.
