Went with Goodes even though he generally starts slow, but because he was doing a bit of time in the midfield during the pre-season. Picked over ROK because of ROK's limited pre-season and rumours of niggles. Picked over Pavlich because rumour had it that he would spend more and more time up forward, thus limiting his opportunity to chase possession.

Really keen to see what Goodes' role is again this week before I consider an unthinkable sideways trade.

I think you've got to stick it out once you've picked him. I stuck it out last year and he came on strong at the end. Unfortunately I paid $600K and lots of others paid $400Kish for him.

The Good:winning all 4 of my matches over the weekend and my rucks scoring 250

The Bad:leaving over 250 points on the bench.. take out my lowest scoring players and i score 2100 instead of 1996

The Ugly: selwood and my gamble on Gamble and an overprices D Stewart

Still to Come:my 1st 2000 point round

Rant/Rave: leaving so many points on the bench.... lucky i won my games... i miss the 4 'trial' games we used to play

The Bad: Overlooking the hawthorn selections and getting stuck with puopolo (amatuer mistake)

The Ugly: Would have had lower instead!

Still to Come: My GC players to come in for those rooks, should be an intersting few weeks ahead

The round 1 winner managed 2619

Pretty happy though starting with 2300+ and winning in all 3 leagues.
Some risky picks went well, some good rookie picks, others "okay".

The Bad: Smith, Everitt

The Ugly: Yarran

Still to Come: Petrie & GC lads

Rant/Rave: Yarran and Everitt (2 mid-priced punts) are a concern. Mainly Yarran. Also I switched Curnow to Atley at the last minute, doh.

Yarran is a real worry but at least he should rack up the points against the Suns this weekend. If he can't rack up points against them he could be on the chopping block at the REBCats selection meeting next week.

The Good: Swan, Sex on the beach, Gibbs, Krakwhore, plenty of good new rookies even before the Suns roll out their squad. No injuries.

The Bad: Foley, Not one ton from the 'premium' forwards (N Roo, Buddy, Stevie J, Goodes, Harvey, Higgins)

The Ugly: only round 1, all can be excused so far!

Still to Come: Swallow and his Gold Coast mates.
