Round 2 - Teams, Trades & Discussion

Postby White Line Fever » Tue Mar 29, 2011 2:24 pm

Well the games now begin and it's becomes alot more obvious at how stategic coaches will need to be with the bye.

List management is a must.

The crows have the bye and in come the Gold Coast rookies.

I'll be putting Otten and Knights to the bench and i think Petrie is back...

Swallow might get a run for GC in middy.

Bock into backline.

Looking forward to backing up a 2000+ and not using trades.

Alot better start than last year.

No trades for me. Gonna put Stiffy, Corey's brother and Knights on the pine. Not sure who to bring on the field yet.

My only concern this week is which rookie to play: Harris, Liberatore or Hibberd.

At this stage im sticking with Libba

Into my side comes harris at the expense of conca (at this stage) and in comes duigan at the expense of buckley.

Ill give yarran 1 more week, if he fails its to the delicious trade table for him.

Selwood a chance to play.

Chapman looks a likely in.

Hodge also set to play.

Shouldn't be trading, unless you have Brown and/or Le Cras (and also Staker, but if you have Staker in your team you deserve to have terrible luck).

Depending on the extent of his injury, Easton Wood is the only possible (but highly unlikely) trade for me.

Unfortunately i have J Brown in my side so i just need to decide when to move him on for another forward do i wait for another to drop or do i just do a sideways trade now.

Hopefully selwood gets up for this weekend.

If this next round goes like the first one I have my 2 correction trades sorted out but I think it's too soon to react to one week of scores and trade this week, as Quichey says

If it wasn't for the bye and Knights missing I could have benched Yarran for Tapscott this week. Surely he will score decently against the Suns? Hope so or it's trade time.

At least if he can't score you know for sure. If he racks them up it doesn't really tell us much. If he can rack them up a couple of times a month he makes a decent cash cow perhaps if not a keeper.

I agree REB. It's like Curnow who I missed (swapped at the last minute for Atley). He will likely score well again against the Suns but how much can we take from that? In some ways I'd like Yarran to make the decision easy for me. I picked him as he was bye friendly and looked likely to rise in price so I could swap him out before his first bye to a premium like Didak who scored low in round 1. We'll see how he goes.

On the SuperCoach board on BigFooty there was more than one Blues fan who was talking down Curnow's job security. Far too early to make a call on Yarran or Curnow just yet IMO.

I switched Curnow to Atley at the last minute exactly because I felt Atley had the better job security so definitely too early to call it on Curnow.

I bet a lot of people make a sideways rookie trade on Curnow this week or next.

Makes sense:

I didn’t have JKT on my radar last year but picked him up on a downgrade and had him on the bench till the end.
I did not have Curnow on my radar at all this year. So hopefully I can just forget about him.

Selwood will play this week I reckon. No concussion just a fat lip. Not happy with Scarlo's stupid strike on Riewoldt though. He's old enough to know better.

O'Keefe scored well last week but the question will be whether he can maintain those performaces. Goodes starts slowly every year and expect him to boom towards the end of the year. Cyril is pure magic and would be my choice out of those 3.
