FP to get up)cbcoc v pembroke Based on last year. Im having a stab at this as i dont know anyting about Pembroke
seaton v pooraka Dark horse here might be an upset. I think Seaton are gonna struggle early
flinders v mitcham Will be a cracker. With the recruits (& extra points ;))
smosh v portland Match of the round. Will be very close. Both sides up and about. Home ground adv = a win for us
para hills v golden grove This will be a close one also. GG to win but only just

Very impressed by the lads on Saturday against Gawler. Not sure on Gawler's normal round credentials as i dont know much about them. Great plays by us pretty much all game and the lads have really stepped it up to keep or be in the mix for a position. We are in a very good place ATM so i will say taht we will have a good year. SMOSH are the same. They had some bad luck last year with injuries as we all know but i just feel (would have to be as i havent seen SMOSH play any trials) that we will get up on this one. Round one is tricky. A week is a long time in footy. Injuries at training and blokes not being available for what ever reason. Really looking forward to this week. Good luck to everyone on Saturday.

Agree in some degree agent there young fellas hold no fear when moving the ball, I would assume they will be a little inconsistent though as most young teams are, their midfield was good on the weekend, very young but very productive.

Who are some the kids coming through that will make the step up this year? How many of the B grade premiership players from last season will start in the A grade this week?

Round 1 Tips:

CBC over Pembroke - 10 goals - havent heard many great things on either side, CBC purely on last years performance
Poorake over Seaton - 6 goals - seaton seem to be in a whole lot of trouble
Mitcham over Flinders Park - 2 goals - could go either way... but the MFC boys have worked hard over preseason and should be ready to take on FP and their recruits!
SMOSH over Portland - 2 goals - could go either way... but beginning to hear more and more good things about SMOSH - should be a real force this year
Golden Grove over PH - 2 goals - PH play well at home, but are just missing too many key players

Interesting round 1... from most of the predicted ladders posted on here earlier, round 1 has the predicted top four playing each other, and the predicted bottom 6 playing each other... if we have any idea what we are talking about then there should be plenty of close results this week!

Can see them struggling personally but time will tell.
Looking 4wd to Mitcham recriuts playing going to be a big game and we have the capabilities to win

Did you mean "girlfriend" when you said GF, and are you talking about Pooraka when you say lost more than gained?

CBCOC - Fudd's mob to get off to a flyer.
Pooraka - Have to back my boys in here.
Flinders - The pundits have these guys playing finals so i have to back them in.
Portland - Again lots of preseason talk suggests these guys will go alright so i'll lock em in thanks, Ed.
Para Hills - think they will end up with the lollies on sat.
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

With FP getting taken by Rostrevor on the weekend. By the reports not too flash. Will look to Mitcham being closer than some think.

cbcoc v pembroke Have lost a couple but will be too good. 30 odd Pts
seaton v pooraka Be a close game not to sure so will go with Pooraka after Seaton having lost many players from 2010. 3 Goals
flinders v mitcham Had a good pre season, this game will test were we are at as a team. 3 goals
smosh v portland Another close game can go either way. 1 goal.
para hills v golden grove Hearing about Para Hills loosing players and blokes not training cant see them winning always a hard trip out to the Paddocks tho. 4 Goals

Rostrevor are a pretty quality outfit though aren't they? i wouldn't expect flinders to beat them.

cbcoc v pembroke - CBC will still be competitive without Douglas and Hegarty
seaton v pooraka - Dont hear much about Pooraka but remember them being a competitive side a few years ago in division 4
flinders v mitcham - Flinders seem like the team to beat but the weekend will show us where they're really at
smosh v portland - Won't be much in this one just hoping for Portland to lose :D
para hills v golden grove - With PH losing a few key players Golden grove will want to make a quick impression in Div 4. Could go either way

Heard a little whisper that Sudjay Cook was having a run with Flinders Park C grade? Played a few games for the crows and maybe centrals back in the day. Can anyone confirm this?

Can't confirm or deny, but I know he played a bit at Norwood and alot at Glenelg and has been at Broadview of late

I wouldn't be surprised if Smosh gave Portland a bit of a touch up this week, not trying to stir the pot amongst the portland mob but I thought they looked pretty impressive on Saturday

CBCOCv Pembroke
Seaton v Pooraka
Flinders Pk v Mitcham
SMOSH v Portland
Para Hills v Golden Grove

Hard to tip not having seen any of these sides and disecting the pages of crap in here. All I know is that we will have to un-fist ourselves to even get close to Para Hills on the weekend with our trial game form.....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.
