They have picked up Gary Karpany for less than half that amount and i can tell you now this kid is an absolute star. The best small forward in the SFL by an absolute mile. In fact the only player ive seen as good as him at the same age is Trevor Rigney and we all know what kind of impact he made on the RMFL

I realise that Sportingpulse isn't always up to date, but since the clearance for Karpany was denied, there hasn't been another application listed on there. Is it confirmed that Tailem is still trying to recruit him?

Heard that Porties are holding him for last years subs. Isnt contracted to my knowledge.

Honestly though this kid is a freakish talent that you wont come across very often.

Tailem Bend will probably have a better side than last year but so will every other team except maybe Mannum and Ramblers but they wont drop back far. The fact is they have 20-30 goals a game to pick up on these top sides and aswell as gaining some good recruits, they have also lost some of there best players from the last couple of years

Kenny, as you would be well aware Tailem Bend have a bad recruiting record of late – really bad. Actually researching and coming out with the two best possible players for our money I think is a much smarter move. Two young guys straight out of a league team. Picking up 10 blokes who are $200 players just doesn’t cut it in the RMFL any more. From experience, only one or two are worth their weight, while the others are tag-along mates.

Tailem are predicted to come bottom and rightfully so due to our recent record. But expect vast improvement.

Gary is training with the team and it is expected he will be cleared in time for season start. Unpaid subs are the only problem.

Thats a fair point there, especially if they've lost Vickers. They've replaced Gabb with Bowen, but if they lose a zero pointer in Vickers, that will be a big loss.

Give us a spell, ever seen Nathan Bayly play? Dominates the league in regard to small forwards and gets a heavy tag every week!

Gary Karpany kicked 49 goals in the 3rd bottom team as a 17/18 yo kid in 2009. Missed most of last season.

That's the idea, that's what they are doing champ. It's not the Tailem end that is slowing that down. But cheers for the tip.

Apparently mate, but I've yet to see him train with the squad and there has been no action on the clearance list so I'm very doubtful.

Round 1 Tips

Mannum v Ramblers- Ramblers with almost a full list just! 1-10 points

Jervois v Mypolonga- Mypo in another close contest 1-10 points

Meningie v Imperials- Meningie to get their season off to a flyer 11-20 points

(bye the way, it would not surprise if I got all 3 wrong as it will be close)

Roos vs Chooks- Ramblers still the team to beat until proven otherwise will win by less then 10 point

Bloods vs Tiger- This will be the biggest margin for the round and wont be as close as people think Bloods by 30+

Bears vs Blues- This could be the perfect oppourtunity for the Bears to get there season of to a good start while the Blues will be missing a few. But i think the Blues will get home in a close one by under 15 points

Round one tips:
Mannum v Ramblers - This will be a good game. In my opinion Mannum have a better list but Rambers gel together better. The Roosters to win by 1-10 points

Jervois v Mypolonga- I'm not convinced Mypolonga are an improved outfit, while the Jervois faithful seem to be up and about at the minute. The Bluds to win 11-20 points

Meningie v Imperials - Too many people are writing off Imperials this year and I'm not sure why. They haven't lost too much quality and it sounds like the new coach is a gem. Meningie will b the big movers in the competition but I can't see them knocking off the Blues just yet. But, I sincerely hope they do. Blues by 21-30 points

Much tighter competition this year. Should make for a few more exciting matches and not as many blow outs this year
