Did you really want to see it last time you were there?

Squawk wrote:FFS. More clubs wanting to play night footy. In the end, every club will have lights and get allocated 3 games a year each for an outlay of probably $300k for each new set of lights - ie a year's salary cap. All clubs will then be trying to pinch night attendances from one another. And no one will be much better off in that circumstance because there's not much ability to expand SANFL attendances.

Tend to agree Squawk. HAve been a bit annoyed the Eagles haven't been given the occasional night game at Adelaide Oval given we have been consistently been one of the top teams. However, at Woodville Oval, thought maybe we had been angling for perhaps the Saturday afternoon "traditional footy market", and get more television exposure because of it.

Couldn't agree more!!!
Well said.

No need to erect lights - play games @ Adelaide Oval if you want to play Friday Night, otherwise forget it... pointless waste of money, WWTFC can NOT afford such a financial burden, we are already running @ a loss FFS.

The other issue is the lighting IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH !! The AFL may have a certain standard, why we follow their standard beggars belief, but it isn't bright enough. Yet we still suffer the ignorant attitude of at least clubs have them . I think it'sfantastic clubs invest in lights but at least make them bright enough , surely a good eye for watching footy is better than trying to adhhere to a DULL standard.

I'd be happy with Woodville Oval just being a Sat and Sun arvo venue. The occasional night game at Adel Oval or Thebby, if they ever get the lighting going there. Happy to play away night games, but why not target the family market for afternoon games at Woodville Oval. As Squawk and FlyingHigh have alluded to, night games are becoming more the norm than unique and therefore I think their popularity won't be as strong in the future.

In away night games could be good at Pecker Park. Treeby could run and disappear into the shadows.

Could be interesting to see what might happen with Crowd numbers at Woodville if the Reserves, League and Henley all played on the same day?
