MPPs

Postby Trader » Wed Mar 23, 2011 12:30 pm

Hey Guys,

What's your general plan of attack?
Are you trying to keep the number of players from 1 team to a limit, or are you more looking to get in as many MPPs as you can.

Looking through my side at the moment, I have 8 suns in there, but I also have 12 MPPs, so I think I should be able to switch them up so they are all on the bench in Rds 1 and 9.

Interested to hear peoples thoughts on this.

It's more important to have the best players rather than overdoing it on MPPs. I have one of each in my mids (DEF/MID) and (FWD/MID) but most of the gun mids are specialists and that is the highest scoring area of the ground.

If you are on Joel Tippett just to rotate with Tippett or Petrie I officially feel sorry for you. ;)

Eight GCS players! Expect a lot of the rookies to be rotated out of the side for periods of rest to nurture them through the long year.

With that many Suns you will end up trading them out before they have maxed out to avoid donuts because they have two byes in the first nine rounds.

Hey bud, I've had MPP's before but never really seen the advantage in it .. Are you guys saying that if I have (hypothetically) Bryce Gibbs and he is rated as MID/DEF that I can somehow have him play in either of those regions without burning a trade?

If you start Gibbs in defence, to substitute him the midfield, you need to swap him with someone who is already in your midfield that has MID/DEF MPP - ie. you can only swap with a player who has the same MPP capability.

Is that only before the season starts or during the season?

They had it last year, but fewer players were available for MPP, especially rookies, which made it difficult to utilise. This year a lot more rookie have been given MPP status, which makes the function more effective.
