Can't tell you much about the game - wasn't there.

Flaggies B grade won by five goals. A good result for North's Bs considering they were scratching for players on Thursday night and Flaggies pumped us last year.

North played quite well. Thought they might get over run in the second half but they played a very good third quarter. They won by about 4 goals I think.
Geordie Franks started like a house on fire kicking about 3.3 in the first quarter. Opposition then worked out he doesn't know how to handball so curbed him alot from then on. I did notice he handballed once in the last quarter....and guess what? North scored a goal from it. Needs to get proper socks before round 1 rather than wearing white socks.

Also noticed big Dave Francis playing B's for North. Handy pick up out of retirement if he plays all year. Top bloke to go with it like the rest of his family.

SC, I was just coming to the thread to mention Dave Francis. Had forgotten to add it earlier.
I understand his missus wanted him to play, so he wasn't in the stands drinking beer all day on a Saturday ;)

Good bloke Dave.
If you've ever stopped the man in his tracks with a tackle, you've achieved something in football. Biiggggg bloke. Good bumper bars too.

Any blokes from Barmera Monash on this forum heading up to Mannum for the Roos Vs Roos hit out on Saturday. If you are I hope you have chipped in with a bit of preseason work. Not only is the oval looking sensational, it looks like it has grown ten metres in each direction since you last visited.
It's size has caught many a bloke out early in the season, although you guys play on fairly decent sized paddocks up there. You should see the eyes of some blokes from the hills when they first see it after playing up there. Whole different ball game.
Looking forward to hosting you guys again. Tally stands at 1 a piece and with us both finishing 2nd in the leagues last year, should be a sensational hit out.
Thank god footy is back, circket has been over rated. The world cup might even finish half way through our minor rounds.

I am pretty sure he will be there.
Might have started pre season slightly late due to being overseas but looked like he has caught up.
Very sure an Ash Kassulke wont match up on him, but I am sure the Roos have someone else in mind.
Good luck with that.
Gotta love footy and all the crap that goes with it don't you!!

very soft and uneven and that was only walking on it, so i could imagine what it would have been like playing on it.

Yeah it's pretty slack on the council's behalf. Some of the guys were saying saturday that council were going to cut it right back this week but that obviously hasn't happened yet? If it's not mowed this week, it could make for some poor footy being played, as blokes won't be able to kick the footy without getting their boots getting caught in the high grass. Is someone going to check with council and see if they are going to do anything this week?

I'll be getting there at 12 and watching Berri play and heading straight home. I goal umpired last week and drank 15 cans during the game and then got home a bit late and I'm still in the bad books, so I'm being a good boy this saturday.
