I heard that kilburn beat goolwa by 2goals roughly. Goolwa had 7 or 8 a and b graders attend a wedding on same day still managed to fill 2 teams apparantly.
Heard on the weekend that lee saunders from victor has retired due to osteatis pubis handy player out for victor.
Good to see you back limb, how are the creek boys travelling? They are talking it up this year hopefully the big recruits can finally back it up this year after a few disappointing years.

Not quite right. Nugget is just about the injuredest player I've ever seen but word is he has a sore groin due to getting TOO fit and has stopped training for a month. Hopes to be right for round one.

Just letting you GSFL followers know that the great Jamie Brown has hung up the boots.

A lot of stars played at Victor during the 90's - but Browny/Browndog/Dog/JB was the key in the midfield. Plenty of decoration with 6 flags, BOGs in GFs, numerous representative guernseys and life member of VHFC. Only the umpires failed to recognise his talents. One of the hardest, fairest, gutsiest country footballers I've had the pleasure of playing with and watching. Seeing him continue on and more than hold his own to (nearly) age 42 has been amazing. Great player and a great bloke!

Go Dog.

Goolwa didnt go 'after' Damien. He was told casually at the pub that he'd be welcome at our club if he wanted to play. By the time his name was mentioned we had settled all of our budgets both with dollars and points

He is showing very good signs on the track and the internal trials - I guess we will see very soon. Jagged a driver about 6 weeks ago but going well again now.

His decision to play with Victor showed some guts given we were in the same position as Goolwa. Impressive stuff - I hope he has a great year and is justly rewarded.

Looking forward to it. Is it true Gilesy is coaching you?

Ironbank will be close to full strength in the A's after having a heap out last week.

B's will have at least 10 on the bench!

great trial for both Compass and Ironbank - some big hits.. though a few were friendly fire on the compass side

compass had about 11 out of the A grade and a bare 18 on the park had to use a few senior colts that had played the previous game

ironbank looked very smooth after halftime - the no 11 killed us across halfback with his drive and switching and the fullforward marked everything that came his way

for compass Maxy, Cheater and Brokenshire worked hard
Burdett and the BondiVet showed glimpses
Sam Braidwood did not get really any decent delivery on the small ground (had to do too much leading out of the square into the pockets)
ironbank won 13 goals to 8 goals
compass were up at half time but over-run in the third when they were against that icy cold wind
the beer was nice the game was played in great spirit and the sun was out
think both coaches were happy

Mt Compass have an internal this saturday 2nd - with cricket GFs finished and a couple of others back from injury should be a good hitout for all

Victor had a 6 quarter game against Tanunda. Tanunda won the first half by about 6 goals then victor the second half by 2 points. A bit hard to guage too much as both teams had a few out. For victor Sam Basham looked good up forward and it was good to see Leigh Kruger back in a Victor guernsey. He and the other usual suspects Hodge, Whatmann and C. Simmons got plenty of it. A much fitter Les Weetra won plenty of the hard ball as well.

Next week Victor are playing 2 games against Reynella, hoping most players should be right for that and we'll get a good look at how they set up.

Get ready for a Strath bagging session. Spoke to some SFL blokes yesterday - not happy about the Messenger cup debacle at all.
