For the record, bored made Club history (I'm assuming..) by scooping the pool and winning the Batting, Bowling, Fielding and Club Champion awards at this season's Presentation Night. As per Club policy, a player can only win one of the bat/bowl/field trophies, and despite much coaxing from spintwin (and possible threats of violent repercussions..?? ), bored opted for the most unlikely of the 3 awards. The Hulk was then awarded the batting trophy and Oxygen Thief the fielding in Div 1.

thanks GH, i highly doubt i will get another one of those bowling awards too... hence why i took that (sorry again Spintwin! :P )

Not a huge crowd, but I thought it was a goodnight. Was expecting more players from the winning teams I must say, I think from the two winning Vista teams they had only 1 player, the B grade captain.

Thought the Power point presentation was pretty good.

For all the negativity about our comp from outside and within was a great game of cricket on Saturday in the Div 1 GF. Game played how cricket should be played - hard all day and the odd flare up but mostly played in good spirits and most mingled and enjoyed a beer afterwards. Credit Fitzroy when Locheal went early i though we might crack it open but the rest of the top order toughed it out and nearly got you close enough.
Have been lucky enough to play in the last 4 successful PV teams and this was the best win of the lot as I thought at 3/130ish that we were in heap of trouble. Jonny Smith and Wiles catches turned the game in our favour. The last 30 runs we got out of Vines, Sarge and Wiles were the difference in the end. Great game to finish up on for me, PV is my 4th club in churches and it has been a pleasure to play with a great bunch of blokes. Looking forward to coming out and see you make it 5 in a row.
Spintwin and bored best on ground at the celebrations to, can see why Dutchy gets in so much trouble at the whooshed. 8)

Monday night a tough night, especially when quite a few were either still recovering or trying to get back in the missus good books. Dissapointing as these nights used to be really something to look forward to. We will try and make a better showing next year 8)

Would be really interested in what night everyone thinks would be best night to have it.
I actually thought Monday would be good as it does not clash with footy training, or a game on Friday night.

I think they have tried Sunday arvos etc and they have all pretty much failed.
My boy made the Para Districts SAMCA cup team and I know juniors are different, but they were all expected to go (Out at Smithfield) all but 1 went, and every winning team was there, the place was packed. They all got a certificate, maybe something our Assoc needs to look at, or a think tank atleast.

I didn't get there but apparently numbers were well doen on the previous few years. The PDCA do their senior one on the Wednesday after the GF's, it has been held at Two Wells for the past half a dozen years or so, it's always a great night to catch up with old foes, well catered, cheap drinks and a good laugh.
Always well represented.

At the Para Districts presentations all kids got a sausage, and a can of drink with Mark Cosgrove there to hand out trophies and sign autographs. Was a great night. I know seniors are different, but I thought the C&CCA presentations were very good, and I didnt expect any more people, its just the culture in our comp not to go to these things I guess. C&CCA paid for food to be put on, so hopefully moving in the right direction.

Yeah, I've been a part of it for the past few years, my car shat itself on my way home from work that day, it's usually a good day for the kids and the PDCA look after their juniors exceptionally well, it's a nightmare for a couple of hours trying to cater for it from a club level but the end result is pleasing.
Well done to Cossie aswell, he usually makes an appearance being a former Smithfield and North Pines junior, it worked out well that Tassie were playing in Adelaide that week, he's good with the kids.

years ago we used to have presentations on a friday night and it was a full 3 course meal, up at Stoneyfell Winery.
I know that teams and clubs have decreased over the years but i'm sure this would have a better turn out than what
you experienced last night. Tickets were pre-sold and it was more organised. Was always a good night and the wives
and girlfrields where more inclinded to be involved.
Monday night was too hard for me. I could have made it but would not have finished work then until about 2am. This i try
to avoid!!

I'll have a crack at some of them mate, memory's not what it used to be.. ;)

Div 2 batting was won by Matthew Traianos (sp?) from Seaton with 500+ and Sean Phillips from Central Mission won the bowling with 22 wickets. Div 3 batting was won by Ron Rathjen from Para Vista B's and Jarrad McLeod from Enfield won the bowling with 31 wickets. Div 4 bowling was won by Carmichael from Fitzroy and a lad called Westover (I think) won the batting. Can't remember who won the Association fielding trophy, but PV B 's Greg Kells came in 2nd overall. Jon Smith won the Colin Baillie Trophy for the best-performed senior rep player and young Harry Roling the best U21 player by an absolute street!

I agree that Friday is the best night for future presentation nights. Unfortunately, the days of packing out Stonyfell Winery are well & truly behind us. Attendance was better than last years and I'd also be in favour of Fitzroy Sports Club being the future venue for the event. Shane, Dave and the girls in the kitchen/bar (plus others) did a sterling job putting on a bit of a feed, and no disrespect to Adel Luth's, but Fitzies clubrooms are better decked out to host it and would fully support it being held there in future. Also, well done to Glenys for teeing up the overhead presentation for everyone to clearly see the top 3 in each category and results of the semi's & GF's.

Traianos talks a big game, soo it'll be interesting if he can step up to the plate in Div 1... That's if Seaton get promoted.

Andy Carmichael took something like 42 wickets for the season in our C Grade. Apparently this was his first season of Cricket. Fair effort.
