I have heard all clubs were informed if it was raining they were not to put mats out, common sense really.

Comment of the day goes to Brahma's B grade captain " I didnt know it was going to rain today", laughed to myself as it had been forecast for days and it was very overcast all morning. Dont give up your day job mate.

It was a disgrace the umpires allowed them to set up the mats in spitting rain at app 12:05 so they could get wet when they set up at 12:30 on the Saturday.
As for that comment from Fry OMG...he is either a very good actor or simply brain dead! Started to think the latter as he was deadly serious and becoming upset when we were making fun of him. Would have to be living under a rock the past week to think it wasnt going to rain yesterday. Funny stuff. Must admit, our team had a great laugh at several stages yesterday trying to make the most of a frustrating situation whilst waiting around for the rain to stop.

Oh while on the subject of poor form, WTF was your captain (95% sure it was the captain) thinking yelling at a 17 year old kid calling him a ******* cheat? Everyone including the umpires said he caught it and how the **** is anyone from the side line in any position to judge when the fieldsman has his back to them. Fair dinkum.

No one swore at him before he turned to us and called us ****. His reaction was not one you would expect from a sensational catch as it was. It looked like it may have bobbled, we said amongst ourselves "did he catch it?" or "no way" the rebuttal was something like "I ******* caught it you ****" then "his not a ******* cheat" which quickly escilated the situation.

Don't worry about age, if he is good enough to play the grade, expect he will be tested.

I dont expect any special treatment just because he is 17, he should be treated the same as anyone else. Like i said its what i heard from he and everybody else as to what the sideline comments were. Of course story's will vary depending on which team you are on.

I can just imagine Brahmas A"s and B"s both chasing 280 odd on Sunday. They would most likely be 2/100 after 55 overs. :-q

It really doesnt suprise me a brahma person saying that actually..heres why...few years ago “in a semi“ we finished top and played brahma at two wells..day 1 39degrees with sunday forecasted at 39 aswell...we lost the toss they batted..at tea sunday was revised to 41...meaning we win automaticly..you would think you would declare at tea and try and bowl us out yeah? No “pride“ kicked in and they batted all day....we went on to win the grade 1 flag

Seemed to be alot of swearing in this game? Any reports? I bet not because some umpires understand how emotions run high in finals....

Quick question for the historians around the place............

Has a club ever won the Div1 and Div2 premiership in the same year, as Brahma have the chance to do this weekend.

when we set the mats up it wasnt raining, and unlike most sides we like to warm up, there was nothing stopping you guys from saying to us "look we think the weather is coming in can u hold off"

I would think not, I'd say it's only been in the past few seasons where a club has actually had a team in the top two grades.
Early 90's might be an exception though as they had Grade 1 north and Grade 1 south IIRC.
