Would he have produced this effort in Adelaide? I doubt it. Would he have been at the forefront of a SACA charge to the title? I doubt it.
He didn't show leadership here, he was in a rut, it was time to go. All he's done is show to himself what can be achieved via application. He's showed Tasmania some gratitude for giving him another chance at the top level in Australia.
I say well done on your performance this season Cossie. But why couldn't he apply himself like that here?

Correct me if im wrong but wasnt cossie averaging more than anyother SACA batsmen when he was dropped and subsequently went to TAS?
His weight was a scape goat for people who always want to blame an individual for a teams lack of success..... Cossie has gone to TAS and worked just as hard as he did at SACA, lost no weight and still plundered 800 runs all because people arent doubting his ability and questioning his ethics. Who are you, me or anyone else outside of SACA to question his application.
I remember seeing cossie at Salisbury oval eating a salad in the tea break while the rest of the players demolished a buffet, he was sitting next to Darren Lehman who was having a smoke mind you!

Maybe because he got sick of being told to lose weight. There have been plenty of good fat cricketers. David Boon, Merv Hughes, Ian Botham, Arjuna Ranatunga, Mike Gatting and Shane Warne. Good luck to him.

Cricket as a sport has come a long way since these guys played, expectations are much higher, as they should be, given the money able to be earned now. If sport is your job these days, there are no excuses to be putting yourself out in the condition that Cossie still does, and until he realises that he shouldn't get a look in to any Australian side.

FACTS ARE
-Cosgrove had almost his best ever year performance wise
-Cosgrove is now a sheffield shield winning player
-Redbacks once again finished bottom made no improvement while not having him
-No Redbacks batter has stepped up and made his position their own
Tasmania won this deal EASILY!
