Agostino Signs for Adelaide United

Postby Wedgie » Fri Feb 23, 2007 11:08 pm

Kossie's gone and the quality players are lining up for the red shirts already!

Adelaide United have signed former Australian international Paul Agostino on a two-year deal.

The Adelaide-born Agostino is currently based in Germany, where he has been playing for Bundesliga club 1860 Munich.

The signing is good news for the club after yesterday's resignation of coach John Kosmina and the appointment of Angelo Costanzo as captain in place of Ross Aloisi.

He did play a reasonable number of internationals in the late 90's, turn of the century. Not a superstar, averaging a goal every four games in the Bundesliga, but a very solid professional.

Actually the only reason he is joining United is because Kosmina has been chasing him for a long time and he was looking forward to working with Kossie. Great signing though, he is a gun in the air.
