North played with a lot of run and handball from half back, while Berri generally went long and direct through the middle.
Beauchamp was good and Stone played well.
For North, the big men were promising with Ben Miller's return strong and Wunkar recruit Nathan Brown was quick up forward
and added some real spark.
Overall, both sides looked evenly matched with each playing some juniors.

Bit petty BC. Agree, not almost full-strength at all if you're missing those players but overall the report was fair and balanced.

So, from what I can gather, both sides were about three quarter strength.
Obviously there will be massive improvement from both sides.
I don't think Berri had any recruits out there and time is running out to gain some for the start of the season.
Any addition after the large amount of departures would be welcome but Rod would be confident he could do something with what he's got.
Both sides would have been happy to shed some rust and two very astute coaches would have got a fair idea of what most of their guys are capable of.

What I can also gather is that BC is a bit grumpy today....

I missed you in the bar last night BC. Was hoping to say g'day.
Great effort by Berri to get in and have a meal afterwards, I think just about everyone of the contingent that came over stayed. The effort will be repaid.

I left the club before I could be roped into the weekend's B grade trial against Flaggies. Ain't gonna happen.

BC, no need to get personal.
It was good to see some young players getting a run for both sides and agreed, that
it was brilliant to see the Berri lads come in for a meal and a drink afterwards.
I also enjoyed watching the footy under lights.
Will Friday night games ever become a regular fixture again up here?

We need decent lights. Although I remember games being played under lights at North back in the day. If you can play there you can play anywhere. Might've been upgraded since though.
I played a night game at Berri in 2002 and that wasn't too bad. Renmark isn't great though.

I didn't enjoy playing night footy.
Have played at most RFL grounds at night and the lights aren't really up to it.
From a spectator's position, sadly, my vision these days means I struggle to watch a game at night with the lights we have.

But...if the RFL thinks the lights are good enough and it's good for footy, more night games should be played.
The under 11s could be the curtain raiser, which would be a buzz for them.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference to footy though...

Barmera play Irymple today at the Lakeside. Should be a good hit out. Both sides lost GF's in their respective comps last year.

Loxton North beat Flagstaff Hill.
Can't tell you much about the game - wasn't there.

Flaggies B grade won by five goals. A good result for North's Bs considering they were scratching for players on Thursday night and Flaggies pumped us last year.

I heard a rumour Callum Trifonoff and Geordie Franks made their single beds into bunk beds, resulting in extra space for activities.
Can anyone confirm?
