Four things I learnt from the trial:

1. Brad Moran is too good for the SANFL... dominated2. If we play the same way today all year, we will be even more competative than last year
3. Willits has got to be the loudest person in the SANFL, if not South Australia
4. Jordan McMahon hasnt met the middle of Richmond Oval yet

Only a trial but it was great to have footy back for 2011

And a laughing stock at AFL

Good win by South.....but to be honest - not as good as last week against Westies.

Sturt I thought did not look too bad. Just South had a good last 1/4.

Still, great to get a win over Sturt to take into the year.

My best for South - Wundke (kicked 4 I think), Stribling, Ainger (great defensive game), Lyons, Thewlis. IMO.

With Westies great win over the Bays after South beating them last week.....the year should be an interesting one.

Anyones game really...... ;)

Adam Cullen.

A young indigenous lad from Gawler Central. Still eligable for Under 18's I think, played okay in the reserves last week against Sturt.

Started off okay in the reserves today and with a couple of Central players taking no further part in the game after 3/4 time, Roy obviously decided to give the lad a try.

Very light framed but has good pace, finds the ball and uses it well. Ended up with about 8 possessions in the league game just in the last quarter. Looks promising.

Good to see. Any win is a good win from a SAFC viewpoint I would have thought.

Hopefully Wundke can carry this form into the season proper.

Not having a go here, but has Wundke lost his puppy fat yet? I feel this was his major problem at North.

Didn't see the game, but guessing Eagles would be happy in terms of their pre-season planning. Last weeks team wasn't a patch on this weeks and seems the aim was to play as good a side as possible this week and must have played some constructive team footy.

Keeps that attitude up (Wundke) and gets some decent delievery into the forward line I think he could be a 70 goal + forward for the year, its the 2 things I mention however that could turn him into a 25 goal forward for the year

Lewis was most impressive, as were the eags full stop.. Hentshel, Grocke & Salter (if available on a regular basis), make up a more than handy attack, and with the midfield depth at their disposal they should have no shortage of supply. The delivery into the forward line was probably the most impressive facet of their game yesterday from my perspective.

The Dogs obviously were undermanned, with maybe up to 7 or 8 players to come into their R2 side from the side that played yesterday. Although I'm only assuming that the likes of Nash, Williams, O'Hara, Sibenaler, Obst, Havelberg & Gunston will be available.

If not, and with O'Sullivan, Callinan & Varcoe not available until later in the season, they may struggle a bit early.

Eagles still have players to come back .
My mail would be Parry back next week to boost ruck stocks.
Latter in the year Kite to add a little more bite up forward.
