AFL YouTube Classic Moments

Postby CK » Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:57 pm

Was scanning YouTube for some other footage and happened across these two clips. I remember watching both games and feeling very sad about two poignant moments:

Fitzroy's last win:

Their last game in Melbourne

It's probably hard for fans under 20 to appreciate just how massive this player's presence was in Adelaide at the time, but deserving of his own package:

The order of these 50 Great Marks is very subjective, and some player ID errors spoil it a little (I never remembered Tony McGuinness with such red hair and a different jumper number), but a good discussion point - would a few of these survive the "hands in the back" rule nowadays?

Post away with your best clips.

Thanks for the clips on Kennedy & Crimmins guys, it gladdens the heart of an old Hawks supporter. It was inspiraational people such as Kanga and Crimmo who made the Hawthorn Football Club a very special place to be.

Agree. Both the maroon and the red jumpers are amongst the best in either VFL or SANFL IMO.

Thanks for posting these CK.
The Richmond and Crimmins videos are sensational.
Not sure about the Pagan one, seemed a bit cliched to me. Wallace on Year of the Dogs after the Collingwood loss, is one of the best IMO.

The music on this is a bit loud, but the coaches speeches underneath are quite interesting:

The meaning of football by Tom Hafey:

Very interesting: interviews of Tom Hafey and Allan Jeans on World Of Sport the day after the Matthews/Bruns incident, which was the same game where Mark Jackson also lost it:

An excerpt from the Robert Walls/Kevin Sheedy "discussion" on Talking Footy:

Mark Riccuito kicks the sealer in the game against Carlton in 2001 no one expected us to win

They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10
