also need an honest account. Mt Barker only just beat Plympton is some 20 20 clash. Now in my opinion there is no way a full strenghth Barker would have a close match with a D5 side. Barker would smash them. So what it just the kids playing Plymton or are Plymton that decent???

Plympton were alright, think Gluyas said that the oldest player in the starting line-up at least for Mt Barker was 22. but some of their guns did come on in the second half. They are just trials. Plympton are playing Hahndorf this Friday night in a trial and Hahndorf will be putting up their best side available so its possible that may be a better indicator for you.

Two quick questions.
1. Is this Kriegy?
2. Have you been talking to Kriegy?

Negative, I am not Krieg, Iam not even in the same league. And I dont think I'd have the right words to say if he spoke to me... I'd be too nervous. I just admire him from a far.

Kersbrook but word on the street is he'll be forced to sit out the season before the leagues or his current club let him go hopping mad again.

What a formidable bunch of 'Hungry Roosters' in the paper! Some impressive CV's amongst them too, most have Div. 1 SAAFL experience or similar which will provide a valuable injection of professionalism at the club. This astute recruiting will hopefully pay dividends.

Tim Jenkin back to Loby - was he given a better offer or did he want to remain in Divvy 1? If it was to remain in Div. 1, I suppose that he wants to stay under the eye of the Norwood brains trust?

Are you better off being in a stronger comp even if the team you're in has only won a couple of games in the last few years, or a weaker comp but a side that will probably be more successful?

Ironbank did this in 1998/99/00/01, best thing we ever did in retrospect. Difficult to swollow when the league forced us at the end 1997 but now was probably the best thing the club ever did, especially for a club that was only 12 years old at the time.

you should always aim to play the best level of football that you can, I think the reverse leaves many wondering 'what if'. Tim at Lobey will play against the best opposition which is far better than feeling untouchable and them steppung up a grade and gettin towelled up. At a club perspective, maybe a different story. Maybe!! Imo I'd rather finish lower in a better comp.

Didn't Ironbank finish 3rd one year before they went down? They haven't finished that high yet since coming back up. Stand to be corrected but they have only made the finals once since too, is that right? Just saying I have a feeling that as a whole they were doing better before they went down than after they came back up.

Never finished 3rd, finished 5th in A's in '96 & '97, side totally built on imports and rest of grades were bottom, not even sure we filled all the junior grades. Club was close to folding at the start of '98 but fought back to win Div 2 flag.

A's have made finals twice (2003 & 2007) since being back up, B's 5 times, juniors most years (apart from last year) inc 14's & 17's flags. Club definitely stronger now than back then.

Should be an interesting trial at Brook Park tomorrow night. Kersbrook vs Barossa. Seeing Paul James stand Roger James could be entertaining.

Good to see all the streamers around Callington today due to their cricket teams in Grand Finals. Left me wondering how the Cricket Club can be so strong and apparently so well supported. Obviously they are doing something right. So why is the Football Club so weak in the same town?

You only need 11 for a cricket team and no real support staff. For a footy team you need 21 and a lot of support staff to keep them on the park. Successful clubs are strong on and off the field, there doesn't seem to be much to work with in either department at Cally at the moment??

You guys don't let up hey. Talk about kicking the crap out of a dead body on the ground. Outright gutless. I don't follow anyone in Country Div but not even Hackham in the SFL or the late Pt Elliott of the GSFL got this sort of bashing. Give it up guys, I'm sure everyone has had a gutful. God help your clubs when the hard times hit, I sure as hell wouldn't want you there.

Your not the one who has to waste a Saturday afternoon playing against such a poor football team. That is why everyone bags them because they think its everyone else fault not theirs for being so poor
