Aussie openers (-| ..hit out or get out! 4.4 run rate  the rest of the order needs some time in the middle...selfish!

Reckon we will lose 5 or 6 in the chase, good score to chase.

He had every right to be pissed at Smith, WTF was he thinking, that's a basic fundamental of fielding.

probably just spot fixing

interestingly most bookies offer odds on the team that has the highest score after 15 overs, australia lost that to zimbabwe, lost that to canada and only beat kenya by 2 runs. no other top 4 team in the group got close to losing this bet type to any of of those opponents.

Another emphatic, glorious, magnificent ,awesome , brilliant, victory
Another emphatic , glorious, magnificent, awesome, brilliant, man of the match award to that man AGAIN

How many wins a in a row now in World Cup games ?

PONTING/SMITH
2 players going for a catch and colliding looks stupid
2 players watching the ball fall between them looks even more stupider

Ponting did everything right in calling out Smith
BUT
Both wanted the ball, if Ricky is a good captain, he will approach Smith and apologise for carrying on like a schoolkid
That tantrum was an embarrasment, irrespective of whether Ponting was right or not

After hearing the headlines I expected Ponting's outburst to be a bit worse than that. I don't like the guy, but I wouldn't criticise him too much over that reaction...

Nah I didn't think there was much in it at the time either, Chappelli with a big over-reaction.

Lucky the rain set in against the Lankans, they were on the way to giving us a schlacking.

As for the near collision, once a player (especially if it's the captain, keeper or bowler) calls for it, all other players should remain stationary. 1: To avoid a collision. 2: To not distract the player going for the ball.
Throwing the ball at Smith would've been over the top, I'm not going to criticise him on this one, Smith appears a bit too cocky and the general was showing the soldier he wasn't happy.
Did anyone see Smith after the dude got hit in the knackers, he picked up his bat and started practicing with it in front of the stumps, it was a bit childish IMO.

Our fielding was average. Dropped catches, fumbles, overthrows, missed runouts but ponting needed to show a cool head. Was poor form to slam the ball into the ground like he did. Thats twice this world cup he hasnt kept his anger under control, do we have a new Captain Grumpy?

Dont agree there mate,

unfortunalty the camera angle doesnt show what Smith is doing when the ball goes in the air, whose to say he was screaming his name out as well, all we saw was Pontings during the catch.

really i thought for a bit it looked like the ball was getting away from here, like it was swinging away to his right.

Each to their own, I always look at who else is going for it and then keep still if I think they have it covered. Seen too many balls land in the middle of fielders because of players being distracted or avoiding collisions, I think the Steve Waugh/ Gillespie collision is embedded in many heads.
