1st Mt Barker
2nd Blackwood
3rd Uraidla
4th Mt Lofty
5th Torrens Valley
6th Ironbank
7th Onkas
8th Lobethal
9th Hahndorf
10th Bridgewater

I think the top 3 there pick themselves, but the battle for the final 2 spots in the five will be a very interesting one with any of the next 6 capable of claiming a spot in the finals. The easiest one to pick would be Bridgy at the bottom.

KnB - How much do you want on Torrens Valley finishing in the 5? And another side wager on them finishing in front of Hahndorf! Are you dreaming or on the TV payroll?

I wouldn't say Blackwood or Uraidla are certainties for a top 3 this year!

1. Uraidla - quality team who knows how to perform when it counts.
2. Mount Barker - chokers
3. Mount Lofty - with a few pick-ups will improve but will be close with Blackwood. May give the premiership a shake.
4. Blackwood - will always be around the make and could finish as high as 2nd.
5. Onkaparinga Valley - seem to know how to get into 5th each year.
6. Ironbank - may improve on last year but not enough to get them into the 5. Havn't heard much from them on the forum.......surprisingly for this time of the year!!
7. Hahndorf - will be about the same as Ironbank and Lobey but their player losses will hurt them.
8. Lobethal - will definitely improve but probably only enough to get them about 5-7 wins. May get up to 6th.
9. Torrens Valley - will be poor and will battle with Bridgys for the spoon. They will not be able to replace a player like Gunning as well as their other player losses despite getting an extra 3 points.
10. Bridgewater - toss of the coin between them and TV for the spoon. Way too many departures and until they do something about their facilities, the revolving door will keep............revolving.

D.Roberts is the only one I can think of.

They are promoting their youth this year so I'd say 7th sounds pretty accurate.

Would be interesting to know how much clubs are spending (wasting) on players to finish 4th, 6th, 8th, last wherever??

I don't know about 'wasting', a (predicted) lower club would still spend coin to climb the ladder and as a medium-term plan to garner more success = easier to recruit in the future. Other higher clubs have topped up their list to get a flag at the end of it. I dare say that TV have 'spent' the most and with the points system being introduced this was always going to happen ie less recruits but on higher coin. In all honesty does anyone know what ANY club is spending?

new Onkas coach Steve Wallace will be bringing some new recruits with him from his days at Happy Valley - seems some guys are more faithful to former coaches than they are to a footy club

Ha, thats funny. After speaking with some high profile players from Valley anyone worth their salt won't be following Wallace anywhere. Good luck Onkas.
