Guilty as charged.

However, another point I'll bring up is most Div 2 sides start preseason at the end of Jan (from what I've seen in the courier etc)

The Devils start in Early November. The last 2 years, that's meant 5 weeks between a GF and the start of preseason (which in both cases was 90% filled by the consumption of Pale Ale!)

I think that both divisions would have some great players. However the last 10 players picked in a div 1 side compared to the last 10 players in a div 2 side would be were the difference is. Im tipping the last 10 players in div 1 would have more ability then the last 10 players picked in div 2, hence the difference in standard between the 2 divisions.
Does anyone have any thoughts in regards to my theory?

I think this is true for any team, you are only as strong as your weaker players. This is why blokes like Sudjai, TOA etc haven't made the big impact. Mt Lofty recruited 4 strong players, hence making Trigger look better (and he can play!). In the 90's Lofty had John Richter playing and even though he was dominant at times (60 possies against Nairne) the depth wasn't there to support him.
It is no good recruiting a gun if he is the only good player.

Or in our case, the last 10 players picked in the B's have more ability than the last 10 picked in a Div 2 A grade side!!!!

thought that 2 DA when he gave no reply.

i stand by my comment that div 2 will always be that div2.
doesnt matter how better it gets div1 will still be the better comp

gee doesn't take a genius to work that one out. hence the names. div 1 & 2. never claimed div 2 is better, just that the gap isn't as wide as some think.
anyway.. coach of gum this year is Craig Jardine, again, and apparently yes they are struggling for numbers.

doubt it.
i do agree about the last 10 theory in div 1 and div 2 side.
majority of the stars in div 2 would also be stars in div 1 in the right side.
westley is a great example... top player at kersbrook... top player at loby... top player back at kersbrook.

You obviously haven;t seen the super B's at work.

2 association players from '04. 1 player who was invited to train with association in 2006. 1 player who played SANFL reserves in 2006.

What did your clubs A grade have last year?

A perfect example is tresinzki or what ever his name is from up in the hills. The hills boys think he's the greatest footballer there ever has been, ( and he's not bad either for the hills league, won a mail medal) ,fact is, he struggled to get a game at North when they were flogged each week by 10 goals. so to say the best talent isnt playing SANFL is a joke. He's the one of the best players in that comp and probably country footy.... that says it all there.....

That is right but then you have the examples like Matt Cooper who if it hadn't been for that unfortunate incident in October 2002, might have played AFL football.

sorry DA didn't realise that the case was closed once you'd claimed 4 decent players in your B grade.
Kangarilla A's v Mt.Lofty B's
would be a 20 goal thumping to the kangas.

can i just say 'case closed'?

So you finally own up to which club you are aligned with.

I agree that Kangarilla would beat us. Hard for me to say, but I admit that one.

You also say 20 goal thumping. I doubt it - probably 10. There were far more than 4 good players in that side - try 21 + about 5 missed out.

On that point though, Kangas beat Kersbrook in the GF by 30 odd goals. So you are saying that our B's would beat all bar 1 div 2 side.

In anyones books that's a pretty big gap between Divs.

IN MY OPINION I THINK THAT THE KANGAS MIGHT GET UP BUT I DONT THINK THAT IT WOULD BE BY AS MUCH AS 20 GOALS. I THINK THAT IT WOULD BE UNDER 10. THERE IS A LOT OF QUOLITY PLAYERS IN THE DEVILS B'S SIDE THAT WOULD BE WALK UP STARTS IN ANY OTHER A GRADE SIDE IN THE HILLS. IE: CHAPPY, NIPPLE,BROADBRIGE, HUFFY, COATSY, NOT TO TALK NIPPLE UP TO MUCH... RIGHT DA

Devils B grade were good, but not that good. But to even think about them beating several top Country Sides is stupid.
Kangarilla are a very impressive outfit and would play finals football in Central

Another who obviously didn't see the Super B's in action.

The super B's would have beaten a few Div 1 A grades.

The super B's were a strong team come GF day, but I presume your talking about some of the weakened Ironbank and Bridgewater sides that took the field during the season. With the Super B's at full strength against an central A grade team at full strength, they wouldn't win

GF was one of our weaker displays for the year.
Semi against Mt barker was amazing.

We would beat Ib and shanty A's easy. We would give Mt Barker, Loby, Handorf and Blackwood a run for their money.

Dont be coming on here and calling people stupid with your first post.

All this has been discussed on previous pages. Go back, have a look and then make a comment. But calling people stupid with your first post is a good way of getting everyone on here to cut you down.

the mountlofty super b's would have comfortably dealt with IB, and bridgy last year. as for the country division (which for your info JC is what the ex-div2 comp is called. its not div 1&2 anymore its cental vs country d!ck) dont think we wouldve beaten the top prob 5 or 6 but honestly wouldve beaten the others pants down.

this should get ron, armytank and TWE all pumped up. but u know its true.

PS. the 5th side in cent.s got beaten by devs without scoring, i know for a fact that they wouldnt have beaten aour b's without us scoring. yeah blackwood for ameatures!!!
VOTE1 Tom Maslin for the seat of MAYO!!

Highly doubt that.
It isn't going to happen so forever it will be unknown.
The Devils are going to have to be on their toes this year anyhow, their A grade will face much tougher competition, with Ironbank looking to give the premiership a shake with an influx of stars, and also Onkas looking good.
On a country note, Kangarilla shouldnt be bothered
