It's true - I only know his name.
Anyway who else was at the Birdwood - Jervois game? I've only heard about the game from Birdwood people. How strong is the RMFL? I have heard Jervois mentioned as being in the mix for finals. Onkas lost to them citing missing 3 guns as their excuse. Birdwood played with at least 7 certain A graders missing. They are only trials but the results are interesting.

They played 4 x 30min quarters (1st half B's, 2nd half A's). 1st half score: Birdwood 11 goals, Jervois 3. 2nd half:Birdwood 14 goals, Jervois 3. I think that Chris Ladhams played but I wasn't there so perhaps someone that was could give a better analysis?

The Shane Russell seeking a clearance to Jervois, is that the same bloke who played for Ironbank and Milang. Handy pick up if it is him.
I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. I can't put it down.

If it is the same one, he would be getting on a bit. Don't know how old he was when he played for ironbank but it would be about 10years since he played in the hills. Was a very handy player though.

Got beaten pretty easily in both grades against Barossa but would not read too much into it. Would have only had 8 regular A graders playing in the main trial and the B grade trial had 7 or 8 U/17 kids playing. The next trial against Mt Barker will be a better indication of how Imps will go this year. Great to watch Roger James play. Fair to classy for several opponents.

I didn't get to the imps trial was busy with work commitments, who were good players? How many Roger James kick? Did Ben Quast stand Roger? If not he would of kicked at least 10 with imps defence being light on this yr

this would be rusty last played at cbc a couple of years ago and he has always kept in contact with the ladhams since there time at Ironbank will be a handy player still and would only just be 30 so would still have a few years left .

Looks like the Bears have high hopes for this coming season:

With all clubs outside last year's top 3 likely to improve this year, its going to be a real battle for 4th and 5th spot.

Meningie have been very close to the top three over the past couple of years. With Ferenchi and Noske returning from injury and local champ Jamie Austin returning together with several other recruits who can reportedly play it is difficult to see how they will not be a top three team.
It poses the question - which of the current top three will take a step back??? Ramblers, Mannum or Imperials

Although Meningie were hopeful early pre-season of getting him back, it looks as though he will not play in 2011 & may not again ever according to some of the people out that way

As for who will miss the top 3, I'm going to say Imps or Ramblers. Mannum the team to beat!

rusty is one of the best players ive seen at amateur level. I doubt it would b the same rusty though. He works 2 jobs and started playin 4 us a few years back because we were a city club hence not much travel. Then he hung up the boots because of time restraints with buyin a motel. Great bloke as well.

Spoke to Rusty's sister earlier today and she confirmed he is currently cleaning his boots for another season, although wanted to keep things low key and on the hush. Only told his family on the weekend. Can't commit to every week cause of the hotel and train job but will play as much as possible. Great player, great bloke.

Was waiting for his name to be mentioned. He apparantley is going to play at jervois moving out that way with girlfriend no connections to rmfl. Highly talented junior at south was state under 16's done nothing since he is now 21. Still got great skills and can do some special things, but seemed to have a chip on his shoulder at strath rates himself. He has played in b grade last 2 years there mainly as a floating crumbing forward. If he gets fit to play on the wing could enjoy the bigger open grounds at murray bridge, attitude is the key.
