Personally hoping the hot weather hits then and some of the Central trials get moved to night games then i can make it as i have cricket Saturday afternoons.

Love going to the trials, no pressure of result, new exciting players you havent seen and a real relaxed atmosphere.

Less than a week now until the 1st official trial game of SANFL...

I might even go to the Sturt v Port game this weekend, just to get my first SANFL fix for 2011...

Postby 85 WAS A GOOD YEAR » Thu Mar 10, 2011 8:21 pm

In last week's internal trial Glenelg had Meyer, Hitchcock and Sellar playing, so Chad should feel quite at home. He was welcomed back with open arms last year, and will be again.

In the club email today it mentioned a few of last years 18s and 1st year Reserves guys will be given a chance in the 26 man squad. Glad to see them getting a chance to show their talents in trial games, as that what trials should be for.

"The Bays are taking on Norwood this Saturday in their first trial game of the season, with Power star Chad Cornes to feature in the Black and Gold.

Notably Jordan McMahon will also get his first official hit out with the club, and impressive young guns Matthew Snook, Ben Kennedy, Jacob Carger, and Clint Diment have been promoted to the 26-man senior squad for Saturday’s game.

As previously reported, Coach Mark Mickan is looking to reward some of the younger players who have had excellent preseasons, whilst continuing to refine some of the tactics being put into place for the season ahead.

Fans at the game will get the first look at some of our junior players that could feature in the 2011 season, and see how some of the more experience hands are looking ahead of the season opener in three weeks.

The club would love to see as many people as possible there to support the boys. The reserves team will take the field from 11.25am, whilst the seniors will play from 2.10pm on Saturday, March 12."

Not on your nellie, junior.

Only thing Norwood give away are:

1. Homing Pigeons
2. Boomerangs
3. AFL recruits with microchips in their ears. ;)

He did start latter than the rest of the squad in order to give him a little more time off. More a case of giving others time in the ruck though.
