Very good I have heard. They are gonna win the flag comfortably now imo.

I have a question though, and I am not meaning to pick on Mawson's when I ask it....but

All things going as they should you will get promoted this season. But then if all the oldies are close to retiring...especially on the back of a flag, where does that leave you? O'Gorman, Polkinghorne and Reidy gonna go on?? I guess there can be more recruiting done and they may play on, and even though another year older, still be very useful in Div 6?

Got to make the Grand Final before even thinking of Divy 6 first. If we get to far ahead of oursleves will be brought down pretty quickly by the coach. Bit disrespectful to other clubs thinking where the only ones who can win the flag. I hope your right but footy is a funny game.

As for the old fellas they are great blokes and great to have around the club. i hope they stick around for years to come. Looking forward to our trial this saturday night against Blackfriars. We use to have a good rivaly with them.

I'm quite happy to stick all my money on the mozzies for the flag - Riddler just sent me an email stating that if they did win the GF he'd buy me a pub

GO MOZZIES!!! ;)
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

If the Mozzies can get Polky's sons out there they would probably show most of the league up!!! Skillful, quick, athletic, basically everthing their old man isnt!!!

They would probably have more tat's than their old boy too!!! haha

On face value, this looks to be the weakest D7 comp I've seen, but it can be difficult to gauge what level of competitiveness the C/D grades will bring.
Its difficult to work them out week to week let alone over the course of a couple of seasons. It's even hard to work out on match day! I remember playing SMOSH and watching our B Grade get absolutely crushed and thinking our A Grade were in for a long day...only to win by 20 goals. The Adelaide Uni conundrum is much vaunted on these forums as well.

I can't see TTG being as competitive as they were knowing the losses they have had in the higher grades.

My understanding was that they wouldnt have enough for 4 sides this year.
Must have found some players somewhere!

It looked like they had about 25 out at C/D grade training last thursday night, dunno how many are running with the A/B grade as well.

SHOC is the team slipping under everyones guard...finished 3rd last year, have a great game plan and have a lot of young players who have pace oh and lets not forget have the best forward in the comp. By all reports they have a few Div 1R (premiers) players who will only be playing C grade this year which will only strengthen them more. They will be right up there if you ask me.

I'd have Mitchell Park at shorter odds than that Morell...I'm also still not convinced TTG will be that bad very good club and team they'll be more than competitive imo.

I would put my house on Mawson Lakes at $3.00. Pretty sure they will firm into $1.01 by the weekend. And Flinders Uni should be more around $1001.

Coming in from $51 to $10 isn't enough dee man? Hate to be your bookie! :P

Mitchell Park are going OK, just aiming to get through the pre-season trial games and then re-assess where we are at. Wayne has done a great job stimulating enthusiasm and excitement but we also understand that there is a massive amount of work to be put in before we even begin to think about being competitive again.

Lets be honest, we have added a couple of quality players to our squad, but we have not recruited half of the Edwardstown and Happy Valley A-Grades - contrary to a few rumours going around. We are still struggling with our fitness base and to be honest a lot of our established players are getting a bit long in the tooth.

I reckon the early odds of about $10 are more than fair.

haha, no weaving mate. Just being honest-ish.

Knee is a lot better, managed to get through a game of basketball last week no worries. First trial game this week - hopefully Wayne plays me in the forward lines where I belong. Crooked fingers crossed!
