Looking at everyone's second favorite team, and ultimate underdogs, Kenya...

32-year-old Thomas Odoyo is my favorite "associate" player. Has a ODI record that would compare favourably with a lot of International cricketers. Medium-fast bowler who can bat well. Will be integral.

Steve Tikolo (39), may be a little past it now, but he can still whack a ball, will be important against the associate sides they play, and if they are going to upset anyone. Bowls some offies as well.

Jimmy Kamande, the skipper, first played in a WC in 1999, but has only five games total in WC's.
An Ian Harvey type player, in that he bats and bowls, but not well enough to be selected on the strength of just one discipline.

Or a new face... 7 of their fifteen are between the age of 19-24... will we see the next Odoyo, Suji, or Tikolo appear?

West Indies' chances at the World Cup have been dealt a huge blow as their allrounder Dwayne Bravo will miss the rest of their campaign after been ruled out for a minimum of four weeks due to a knee injury he picked up in the match against South Africa on Thursday. The West Indies Cricket Board said an MRI scan on Bravo's left knee had revealed a sprained ligament and torn knee cartilage, and he would return home for further assessment.

Michael Hussey's hopes of winning a surprise recall to the World Cup squad have been boosted with the news that Australia's selectors have delayed naming a replacement for the injured fast man Doug Bollinger. The selectors had been expected to rush a bowler to Colombo in time for Australia's next match, against Sri Lanka on Saturday, but they have decided not to hurry their decision.

A key factor in their hesitation is likely to have been Hussey's expected return to elite cricket after recovering from a serious hamstring injury. He is set to play for Western Australia against Queensland in a Sheffield Shield match that starts at the WACA on Thursday, and if he gets through the match without any trouble he could be on a plane to the World Cup.

West Indies have called up uncapped Guyana legspinner, Devendra Bishoo, as a replacement for the injured allrounder Dwayne Bravo in their World Cup squad. Bishoo has been approved by the ICC's technical committee and will arrive in Dhaka on March 2, ahead of the match against Bangladesh on March 4.

However, they have decided to cover all their bases by flying Dirk Nannes to India to train with the squad as a standby player, in case of an unexpected injury or illness in their bowling stocks.

Kevin Pietersen is set to fly home from the World Cup to undergo surgery on a hernia, after complaining of soreness following an eight-over spell during England's six-run victory over South Africa in Chennai. He will miss the rest of the tournament and England have applied to the ICC's Technical Committee for Eoin Morgan to be his replacement, a team spokesperson said.

Stuart Broad has said he is "pretty doubtful" for England's game against Bangladesh on Friday with a side strain he picked up during the close win over South Africa two days ago. The extent and the seriousness of the injury haven't been determined but Broad said he'd had scans done and was waiting for the results.

Broad out now as well. I've had a side strain myself, bowling was impossible. I couldn't even stand at the crease and make the ball reach the other end it was that bad, let alone bowl 130+kph.

Blokes are dropping like flies here. I don't recall another world cup like it. Wonder whether there is something in all this talk of too much cricket.
