yeah cause semi,s are not important enough to have two umpires ???????????

Def have to have 2 independent umpires. AN ABSOLUTE MUST. In the Semi last year we had all the problems in the world umpiring ourselves (i still laugh at the opposition suggestion i was a cheat for not walking on an LBW), and this year as well proved we need INDEPENDENT umpires at both ends.....you writing this all down exec members?

In the PDCA, each club has to nominate an umpire per team for finals, given the fact that there will 32 umpiring positions that will need filling during semi-final weekend it means some of the nominated umpires will be appointed games in the lower divisions, generally grades that their won club isn't involved in.
If the nominated player is playing finals then he can be excluded, it works pretty well.

Yeah that's baffling :? I know for a small remuneration, I'm sure the other half would have no problem with me watching a final from square leg. Only problem would be if I got on the wrong end of a smasha decision, I'd have to learn how to run fast :-s

We had an umpire in div 4, from Magill and he did a great job, we had to do square leg, but no big deal, in a perfect world, two umpires would have been great, but we didn’t have any problems. Far better than what Auto said, when we had no umpire at all and had to do our own game at the same ground last year.
I would suggest though come finals though, you should be responsible for your own scorer though. We supplied a scorer for both days and then had to do the Enfield book as well day 1 even though they had people there.

As for the report, I think our captain was notified by Enfield’s captain, but I was 5 metres away when it supposedly happened and heard nothing, and the central umpire heard nothing, and speaking to some of the Enfield boys after, I think common sense will prevail and no report will be lodged. I just think the Enfield captain might have over reacted at the time and disappointment might have got the better of him which is understandable.
Time will tell I guess.

Unfortunately the Fitzroy Media Manager is contracted with Ricky Nixons flying start and until the mess has been sorted out with the St Kilda School girl, he can't give the boys any advice on how to go about with all these requests.
