Just speaking to Tubby, if the 8 sided comp got up for next year, that adds some more spice into the last round.
Morphys v Sheidow, winner takes 8th spot (assuming south road lose to icc).
Or if Keswick lose to ramblers, morphys and south road both win, Keswick finish 9th. Will keswick be so strong in their opinion if they are a side to be relegated? I highly doubt it.
I personally am leaning towards an 8 team comp for next year as a trail at the very least. I was strongly against it, but as the year has progressed im more for it. It will means section 1 will be a lot stronger, with no easy games, with all sides being filled with 11 players (WOS have really struggled this year).
Wouldnt it be good to have your draw look something like, Cove, WYC, Ramblers, Coro, ICC, Keswick, Glenelg....Thats a bloody hard comp in my opinion, elimates the outrights to a certain degree, and makes it even more so, the best sides will make the finals.
For the 8 team comp to get up, i think it will take a couple of things.
1) keswick to finish top 8 otherwise they wont be so strong with their opinions.
2) keswick and the other clubs to actually approach the opposition clubs and discuss and explain what the new concept is about (this did not happen last year and was part of the reason WYC said no, simply because no-one approached us, nor was it explained well enough).
3)Association to be clear minded and strong minded as well, with what sides will be relegated, promoted, allowed into the comp and at what section.
4)and finally, provide all clubs with due time to actually give thought to the proposals
