You were just running around the block or something were you Johnny and you just happened to run into this bloke who immediately told you about his mate who got offered $650 by the Devs hey? I think you're talking shit JC...NO ONE would pay $650 a game for ANYONE!

Interesting comments about kangarilla. They had no competition last year so it wasn't too hard. They will find it harder this year as a lot of the teams have improved. Maccy have now picked up Michael Foster from barker. Nairne will have 7 - 8 quality recuits running around to improve them this year and a lot of people would have forgotten that they have Luke Percy who will absoluyley carve them up in country division plus kersbrook will obviously be better because of Brett James. The guy was picking up thirty possessions a game last year for Norwood. I seriously doubt Dew and Francou will play. Francou surely would not risk doing his knee again playing in a country league and dew will be overseas most of the year plus how fat is he !! Meadows will be a stronger team than last year but I don't rate Tarque Williamson as a star recruit for $1000 sign on and $200 a game. You would only pay that to a gun player that can win you a game by their own performance not to a solid defender at best.

i think your right, country div keeps getting stronger and stronger, as does central, and to be honest i don't think the gap is as wide as some believe it to be.
i don't agree that kangarilla had no competition last year though, they were the stand out team but TV knocked off once, and had guys like carter, battams, coles and fox running around, plus meadows r a consistently strong team, and kersbrook i still think r the ones to watch. maccy may improve this year, and i hope for their sake they do, every year the rumors are that maccy will be awesome... and then they never seem to even make the finals.

i still maintain the top three country div teams of last year would've been well and truly in the midst of the finals for central div

so now its not only the top country div side that you think would make the central top 5 but you thjink 3 of them would make it. u are seriously barking up the wrong tree here JC, thats more stupid than anything that DA and silky have said put together. are you suggesting that any of those sides couldve knocked onkas out of third spot. u idiot. lobe just missed out of the 5 last year and played some awesome games inc 2nd rnd vs lofty. would say without a doubt that the top two country sides would find it tough against shanty and IB.

For the man in black - I saw the semi-final between Kangarilla and Torrens Valley last year at Blackwood and from what I saw that day Kangarilla would finish 6th at best in Central division. A tough call from one game of footy but Torrens Valley did not impress me at all. The way they played that day they would have struggled to beat the top two B grade sides in Central.

just saw that IB play Kangarilla in a trial on march 17 could be a good indicator as to the two divs rankings. top country side vs the wooden spooners of cent. 06.

It's Nieuwenhuizen...close tho Fonz.

Ron is Nieuwenhuizen a solid player? I've never seen him do heaps but i'm always hearing about him(this could be related to fighting though i guess). He's got the typical Nieuwenhuizen kick!

The Gimp wrote:I'm not sure if you guys realise but the James Boys are locals to Kersbrook and the whole reason Brett left Norwood was to go back to his home club and finish his playing career and start his coaching career. I'd be very surprised if they left after 3 years let alone 1!!

As for Francou and Dew, they are mates with the James Boys and are playing up there for that reason. But I too would be very surprised if Roger (buggered knees) and Dew (lack of passion) played any more than 10 games each for the season.

I think over the next couple of years the James Boys will turn the Kersbrook club into a very succesful one unlike the effects of just recruiting one of two outside "big-name" players like Loby and Hahndorf have in recent years.

Don't worry mate, I'm certainly aware of the James boys and you yourself have given the reasons I was thinking regarding Roger James, Dew and Francou. Roger James would be doing well to run out a div 10 amatuer game given the state of his knee.
Hadn't heard about Michael Foster coming to Macclesfield but it will be a good pickup for them if that's the case. Had heard that he would be playing for Nairne.
LTSO, you'd be surprised what some players are getting paid, even in the Country division.

loves to slote 1 therre is a diiference between being arrogent and being great! lol nah i 2 cann't play like gts. Nieuwenhuizen is a very good player. been injuried last couple years but was one of the strongest full backs. remember him keeping smith to 3 goals when smith was at his best in a few games.

please quote me correctly, i said the top three would be in the mix, never claimed they would knock onkas out of the 3rd spot, i think the top 3 centrals are a solid step above the top 3 country teams, no doubt. but kangarilla inparticular will (assuming they have their full team on deck) give ironbank a serious touch up on march 17th, torrens valley are full to the brim of A1 amateur players on top coin, they are a bit lazy i'll admit that though, including Carter who was a state amateur league player, and meadows are strong also.

kangas would've beaten ironbank, bridgewater, mtbarker, and quite possibly loby and blackwood aswell in 06.
and as for the enquiry as to where i've played.... i'll just let that mystery remain.
