I read that book from cover to cover in practically one sitting, couldn't put it down!
Remembering back to the bad old days when all that Kelvin, Langley & Barnes nastiness was going down...
Although being younger than said victims. At the time ALL adolescent males in this city were absolutely shitscared!
Nowadays I just get pissed off everytime I see that sick bastard Von Einem in the paper, knowing the evil prick's still alive! :x

I've read Young Blood Diss, found it hard to put down however i reckon it is written in a boring kinda way..l. reads like a deticives report, facts, facts, facts really interesting to read about places you know specifically (btw we have a shack at port broughton, seems like these craziees ie Murdoch, and these slime buckets seem to base themselves in towns not too far away.).. the snowtown murders, in my opinion, is intriguing just working out where they (the victims and perps)l fit together... quite an effort in itself and the toture that was inflicated on those poor people ewwww... again just my opinion, again but living around salisbury my entire life I can sort of understand how a group of no-hopers get together and come to the conclusion that they could actually get away with murder (10 times even!!!!)... honestly, do they think they live in a movie? my sympathy too all the families and friends to those who died in such an awful manner and to those left (the children of elizabeth and mark and the kids of the other victims my deepest condolences to you and may you stay strong

Bunting, who lead and started it all - wasn't even from Salisbury though.
A QLD boy from memory - spent time up there, in Salisbury - and at Murray Bridge.

He was a Queenslander on his way to WA with some friends. A fresh start. Ended up stopping in SA and finding some people he liked. He'd been annoying some of the others in the car too - so those that went on were glad to see the back of him. They're probably VERY GLAD they saw the back of him now they know what he got up to afterwards.

I usually love a good crime read, however I was called as a witness for the trial (was a manager of a financial institution where some of their fraud related crimes occurred) and heard enough in that room to leave me under no illusions as to what happened - quite happy to give these books a miss.

As Diss will appreciate, I know a fair bit about this case as well along with the Mark Rust matter.

A lot of very sordid stuff involved but the sad thing is that I have heard first hand of almost comparable cases which dont make the media for a host of reasons. If only the general public knew more about the sadness that some people experience in their lives as victims, then maybe the govt would actually toughen up law and order PROPERLY instead of skirting around the 'public' edges all the time. The Attorney General has no idea what priorities need to be addressed or if he does, he does nothing about them. Anything that is done is typically with retrospect - eg

Arson laws - upgraded to maximum life imprisonment AFTER the 2005/06 bushfire season when arsonists ran amok
Hit and runs - upgraded AFTER Mcgee was charged
Bail Act - proposed to be upgraded AFTER a spate of gang related activity focuses on breaches of bail

I'll leave it there.
