The big clubs of Brighton and Payneham haven't got the numbers they once had, several turf clubs have fallen away big time in Gepps X, Marion and Kilburn. I don't think the SACCA is on it's own with dwindling numbers, as it's happening right across that state. Unfortunately cricket is a dying game and I don't think there is any quick or long term solution to the problem at hand. I wish there was :(

Marion look like they are on the rise, aren't they sitting top A3 this season?

Brighton and Marion were/are the 2 biggest southern ATCA clubs and for one of them to be sitting in A3s is a bit of a worry considering they were in A1s for years beforehand.

The fact that the association has disabled the batting and bowling statistics on both the CCCA website and My Cricket. Sure, you can look at each individual club on My Cricket, but this is simply not the same as having full association stats on the screen at once.

This is the time of year where everyone wants a look and they are a very important reference tool going into finals. Who cares about keeping the trophy winners a secret? Everyone knows already who won the batting and bowling in every division, why cover it up? I wanna know who the bowlers to look out for are this weekend, which batsmen are the most important wicket etc. etc. etc. and we just can't.

Very annoying.

Yes very annoying when I sat down last night to try and work out our clubs trophy winners.

Set it to Fitzroy only mate, it should work with all the stats then. For some reason its just the ccca one that's stopped.

I know for a fact the executive do a great deal of work to keep us playing every weekend

I think we have another keyboard hero. Welcome Rita. We all know the Exec dose a great job week in week out. I don't see anyone on here saying otherwise. I think you will find Oxygen Thief is talking about the future of the comp in ten years time. Maybe if you want to partake in this forum you could come up with some ideas. It is easy to sit back and talk S&%t. Maybe put your hand up to do something for the Association. I am sure most others on this forum have. If you are just here to stir the pot maybe go back under the rock you crawled out from.

Fire up Spin, Did someone take the last packet of grainwaves from the vending machine at work?
It is easy to knock the exec and blame them for all our assoc problems but these people are volunteers who in the most part do not play or gain any direct benefit. They do it because they give a $hit and because no one else will. The in season running of the comp seems ok but something needs to be done about the future direction of the comp. sadly the problems we face exists across all competitions. Southern and Para Districts are rumoured to be losing clubs in Southern’s case it may spell the end of the comp.

I do recall 15 years ago going to a strategic planning meeting for Churches comp , 50 odd reps were there Harvey Jolley from the SACA etc, from memory it was about forward planning -10-15 year planning, team /club retention , junior comps etc unfortunately nothing seemed to ever filter back to clubs. Disappointingly the last 10 years has seen t he demise of 10+clubs (25 odd teams).
Perhaps a better direction maybe for the Exec to form a subcommittee , allow the exec to do what they do and have the committee come up with some recommendations about the next 10 years. There have been pages of ideas on this forum this year that would form a good starting point. If you could get Magpies96, Auto, , Spin ,O2Thief , Pistol etc all blokes who seem to run their clubs in the one room for a couple of hours the future direction of the comp could be discussed and recommendations made to the Exec.
Anyway that’s enough from me work to do we can t all stand starring at the vending machine waiting for it to be refilled.

I'm thinking Bevan from Para Vista. With Muttiah Muralitharan pulling the pin on the spinners coaching position at Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence, perhaps the ACB has gone for the next best available option, and pinched Bevan from PV's finals quest. Without Bevan I don't think PV stand a chance against anyone.

You idiot, my bowling career is what happens when you loose the ability to lay bat on ball, cant field but the captain thinks your good for team morale. Need someone to keep the Gen y's in order otherwise it's all about spraytans, back crack and ? - did i miss any Tacra?
That said the couger is my best wicket....class bat
