Like most teams injuries play a major part but if North can get Allan and Alleway on the park more than last season i think they will improve just on that alone.

Also how many games did Matty Wright play last year, i rate this bloke very highly and think his ready to have a big year with the roosters possibly cracking the crows side late in the year.

Throw in a fresh start with a more attacking game plan and i think the players are really going to have 'fun' with Francou in his first year of coaching.

I think the opposite.

An injury to Allen and or Alleway early could see them as spoon favourites IMHO.

I am inclined to agree. Last year North won 9 matches, I thought either Allan or Alleway was North's best player in 8 of those 9 wins. I said at the time that without those two North would have been down with South and Port.

That is why I was amazed when the Advertiser journalist who rated the top 50 SANFL players had Allan only 7 and Alleway a laughable 46. He obviously never saw them play, I haven't seen two blokes carry a side more in a long, long time.

I haven't seen any recruiting or change from 2010 to now that suggests Port will rise up the table other than "the younger players will be better and more experienced" - that applies to all clubs and to be honest you couldn't beat North in 3 attempts last year yet you even lept us on the "prediction scale"?

Norwood excelled last year on the back of several players no longer there. My opinion is they haven't been adequately replaced.

Port Adelaide had an unsettled pre-season and lost 6-7 games by less that 2 goals. Word is they've been rewarded for being fitter this year and put some game-time into a talented list and they may well turn some of those close losses into enough narrow wins to scrape into the Finals.

As for North Adelaide, you recruited Brett Backwell. End of story.

End of story??? Don't rate Todd Miles KPP or David Hill 201 cm ruckman as decent recruits? BTW - who have Port recruited?

No, I mean whatever top quality recruiting North have done is immediately countered by Brett Backwell.

And Port have recruited a bunch of no-names. Doesn't mean they're duds, just as a "Name" doesn't mean they're a star.

 I'll pay that. For the past 4 or 5 seasons it seems that we were going to or slip down the ladder, except for last year when many people had us finishing top.

My tip:

Centrals
Eagles
Glenelg
West
Port

Norwood
North
Sturt
South

Put me down as a member of the "Sturt will slip" party.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
