Back on topic though, has anyone seen a Rucci or Cornes article on last years profits yet? I think not!
I'd love to hear Rucci's retraction about Sturt's financial position. Has he written it yet?

I dunno, must be Port Adelaide's fault.

It'd be the first thing that is.

Hardly fair to say that eveyone was crying!

I'm still waiting for someone to explain the 14 year "commercial advantage" of competing against a bigger club with the same name, at the same oval, targeting the same supporter base, and taking 75% of the generated revenue.

My only comment to your never ending "shift the blame" arguement is that I think the Magpie arm of the PAFC is now more "hamstrung" and at the mercy of the big brother even more so than when the two were seperate entities. Time will tell if it is going to work or if the Magpie costs will be a "pain" for the PAFC to manage and fund?

Agreed, what was Bucky Cunningham thinking ????
Atleast after the merger Port Magpies now wont be competing against an AFL club with the same name, based at the same oval, who are targeting the same supporter base.

The Power will probably go back to targeting fans outside port's traditional supporter base in a few years. They seem to change their mind about who they market to fairly regularly.
But the original set up was what had to happen. To get in, AFL Port had to sever ties with the Magpies and the magpies had to stay in the SANFL. I don't think it's hard to understand why it was done at the time, but the Magpies just mismanaged their club IMHO, relying on success as something of a birthright and a huge reliance on AFL money from draftees.
