My favorite ZIMBABWEAN, Tatenda Taibu...

I remember him bowling a bit a few years ago (in an ODI), but I look at his stats, and he has a first class eight-wicket haul.

Do you know of any player who's had a decent length career as a keeper, to have such good stats?

Funny to think around the time he came through to the test side Zimbabwe had a decent line up and almost looked ready to become competetive with some of the lower ranked test nations. Streak, Flower, Flower, Blignaut, Strang and Goodwin were all pretty useful cricketers they had going around that time.

Olonga, Campbell, Pommie Mbangwa...

There was a lot of decent talent around, and I remember an opening bat by name Vermeulen, who I thought was going to lead the next generation...

Now look at them... :(

Brod, any chance of Manou's shield average over the last 5 years or so? I just seem to recall him always scoring runs for us.

Lol. I saw your top 10 before I saw this.

Fair stats though from a keeper. Last season struggled a bit, but not bad overall. Especially given how poor he was early.

DO you know who has the best Test average vs Australia?

My mate said Laxman, but I found a few ahead of him...?

Got any sort of runs/innings qualification MP?

But I would say that annoying **** IJL Trott (but he may not have played enough matches, so back up would be Graeme Pollock)

here are some figures

Graeme Pollock averaged 69.19 in 14 tests with 5 100's against Australia
Ken Barrington averaged just under 64 against us over his career
Bert Sutcliffe just under 67 in 27 tests against us

Jonathon Trott has only played 6 tests against us but averages 86 with 3 100's

I was thinking ten tests (gets rid of a few anomalies), and the best I came up with (as Godoubleblues and you said) was Pollock.

Scott Styris, that grizzled old veteran, went past Martin Crowe to become the second highest run getter in World Cups for New Zealand. His aggregate is second to Stephen Fleming's tally of 1075 runs. Styris has also been very successful in World Cup chases. Among New Zealand batsmen with over 300 runs in chases, his average of 77.28 is the best
