Yeah we weren't too far away this year. Couple of close losses cost us. Some good looking bloke robbed us against Fitzroy in a one dayer we should have won, were 14 runs short against PV in a one dayer, Lutherans we nearly beat in a one dayer with a small total and 2nd time against Fitzroy we were probably 30 runs short off a winable total. Some crucial drop catches in those losses too, but you live an learn ;)

Mawson Lakes FC have put up with me the past 3 years and hoping there is a spot on the veterans list still available with them ;) Some old bloke who's related to me said once said "You're a long time retired" so will keep playing both that and cricket till the body and/or wife disagrees with me.

Enfield A defeated Morialta A 157 and 5/41 to 128
Enfield B chasing Fitzroy B's score of 88 were 8/38 to get to 9/94
then bowled Fitzroy B out for 28 and Enfield 0/23 so an outright for Enfield B :S
Enfield C and Paralowie B was called off due to the pitch being underwater..............

Fitzroy C won on first Innings and set Seaton around 130 odd, and they got it on the 2nd to last ball with no wickets in hand to win out right in a fantastic game of cricket. Well done to both sides for great sportsmanship, very enjoyable game of cricket and hopefully enough to get the Roys into the finals against Enfield.

Brooklyn Park won outright in D Grade, so they might have snuck into 4th spot. Its going to be pretty close.

was quite happy to run the footy tipping again, and to be honest it is not that hard.
Thing is, last season i had a certain exec. member who enlisted about 15 players but then when it come to paying insisted that the money go straight into the ass. account instead of coming to me. So i had no idea who had paid, and when i emailed him he ignored me! so guess what- now i'm not interested.
As if i'm going to take the money and run- its a pity cause it could easily generate $600-$1k a year but now if they want it done they can do it themselves!

end of rant....

:-bd And I'm tipping if you had a guess who Mr Thief is referring to, you may guess correctly... ;)

I'll get Typey to give us the run-down of the PV B's match and I'm sure someone from the A's can fill in the blanks, but PV A's chased down the 204 set for them by NEK last week, but not without some hiccups. B.Tarca led the way after being dropped (a sitter too!) early on in his innings to post 79 and share crucial partnerships with Frick (30-odd?) and Wilson (34) to push the total out to 257 in reply. Hoddo batted very well against some tight NEK bowling early on to post a 60-odd, as 3 wickets top order fell around him.

So it looks like PV vs Adel Luth at EJ Smith Reserve and NEK vs Fitzroy at Greenacres Reserve - a repeat of last years semi's. Good luck to all.

It is a shame it was a well run comp and made the association money and helped send the team to sydney. I am more than happy to hand my money over to you.

yeah im sure i prob can guess who it is, no comment!!

Thats disappointing and STUPID from the exec member, i mean the tipping comp wasnt it started off your own back to help generate $$ for the carnival sides? I dont remember the exec or assoc having anything to do with at the start, and the bloke (who im sure i know who it is) is just an absolute moron anyway!!

Just goes to show it just takes one toothless, brainless, useless a$$wipe to ruin it for the rest

It was a great game to be involved in. No better way to get ready for finals and play against Quality"Hard wicket" Opposition. ;) ;)
Good luck to all teams playing in all grades over the next 4 weeks.

B GRADE FINALS

SEATON V AC BLUES @ SEATON

i would expect seaton to win this game with ease for mine the only hope ac blues have of a win is to get ELLIOTT and TRIARNOS (or how ever spell it) very early on in there innings as they both can hurt you with quick runs. you would think BOFFA would also have to fire as he has'nt had a good time of it after xmas. but i'm sure DOMA will bowl good areas and get seaton across the line with ease.

PARALOWIE V MAGILL

looks a very even contest on paper magill the best bowling side in the comp. by a fair way! there batting line up may be a bit thin but this was'nt the case the last time these 2 sides played posting around the 280mark from memory, albeit against a much weaker paralowie side than they will face this week. CRACKERS V A.FRITH will be a huge key to the outcome of this game along with TINNY and TURNBALL will be looking to get him as early as possiable. M.FRITH and EDDIE G/VANDERBYL looked in very good touch on saturday so they may post a decent total for paralowies bowlers to have a crack at. add the that the season that CLARKSON and NORTON have had taken 21 wickets each and HOLLAND bowling as well as he has for years this may well come right down to the wire
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........
