refer to my previous post.

I'll give you those odds without a doubt.

How much do you want to put on?

i'll put a pavarotti they beat the dev's!
And a pineapple they beat shanty and Thunderers

At 1mil to 1, I'd put coin on them too!

Nah, I really can't see them winning a game.

We played them 2 years ago (without our recruits - ie the team that was in the midst of the 29 game losing streak) and beat them by 10 or 12 goals.

Good on them for having the balls to come up though.

is that right??
no worries. i can't imagine they'll perform!
why would they come up? it'll just be a long drive for the rest of the clubs for an easy game?!?
they can't expect us to have a beer with them after the game which is the heart of HFL footy

Our club will be hating it after the away trip to Birdwood - not to mention my missus!

The trip home is easily a 4-5 stubby job, which will result in some very unruly behaviour at the club that night. Plus considering the Devs will win by 50 goals out there, anything could happen!

Moral of the story - slap me with a ban from the club for that week!

1,000,000/1 - Birdwood won't win a game.
10/1 - The River Murray water crisis will be solved by pipping water from Bridgewater Oval to the Murray Darling Basin.
3/1 - Everyone will still hate Blackwood in 2007.
2/1 - Nobody will buy a Dave Benson Caravan in 2007.
Sure thing - the Devils Super B's to win the flag in '07.

Hey DA, you D Head, ill put $100 on the odds of birdwood NOT WINNING A GAME as u have stated, because they are a massive chance to do that and should be short odds not long. Good odds making mate, if u were a book maker u would go broke in 5 seconds flat.
Bring on the end of the season and if birdwood r winless my return is $100,000,000. Thanks Champ!

Good work Petoe, way to take everything so seriously! Why not take money on the river murray crisis being averted, it may pay off in 2030.
Seriously though, there should be more betting on HFL games. If you want to place any bets, I will be on the devil balcony just prior to the start of B grade games wearing a bright orange beanie. Let the Goodwin games begin.

Possibly didn't need the d head tag there petoe, but play on.

The problem with sledging someone for making a schoolboy error like that is that now you have to be careful not to screw up a post of your own, or people will be all over you.

Good luck with that!

Have read the last few pages and offer the following comments:-

- Anyone new to this site and league may rightfully ask "what on earth are Blackwood doing here anyway? We had Milang and have Kersbrook. Zonal country teams. Blackwood is a metro area. How ridiculous that they're here. Why did the HFL ever admit them? Read on....
- Why bother at all with HFL Salary Cap regulations? A bit like the current AFL betting scandal. Farcical. Anyone can pay anyone whatever they like, but really, is any HFL player worth $400 a game? Fair go Blackwood if that's really happening. Glad you have metro sponsors and won't ever know the struggle genuine country sides go though to get a buck or two for new jumpers etc...
- A bit about Birdwood moving up. It does indeed sound peculiar to most, as it did when Nairne and others took the plunge. Without singling out Birdwood, it really doesn't have a lot to do with grassroots footy. Central Div attracts more sponsorship more easily. Hence more $. More promotion, more bums on fences, seats, bars and cars. Much more respect and clout at HFL meetings. More $ to pull players who come as total strangers from other lands, take their money and remain so. So the boys get that sinking siren feeling week after week. It only hurts if you play for the jumper, even if you were born just up the road. By the end of the year, not many are left anyway but the HFL guarantee of 3 years stands. Players are notorious for their non-involvement on club committees. Do a deal with your club-: Go on the committee and train ONE night a week. Change all this stuff.
- Most people (clubs, players, supporters) never think about the HFL governing body and how it works. It's just this name, "The Board" which appears ominously in constitutions and seems to conquer all. In real life, it comprises lots of fuddy-duddies ( each with their own agendas) Most have been there far too long and those in the highest office are there because no-one else wants to do it. I stand corrected if I am wrong, but I would be overjoyed if an actual current player got a jumper. Its' meetings, when delegates are invited, usually comprise club officials who are tired to death with making it all happen and just want to go home. The meetings are flimsy, and, dare I say it, often unconstitutional. Absolutely stale, but it how the hell could it change? Get some new blood!!!!!!!!!

lol @ drug scene in Blackwood. I think the big thing is that the Blackwood boys move on and play for other teams - the unis amd what not.

How long until we can have a detailed run down of each team? and how they will fair? Players to watch etc?

You were a disgrace that day. I loved it!!! - His mum is on Aids!

Yeah Hampto tore it apart that day. If anyone has the right to talk it up, Hampto does for that GF. Classic moment was when Troy DeRon was being a wanker trying to unsettle our young blokes and had Blair in a headlock - Hapto came over and grabbed De-Ron by his head and launched him! I don't think DeRon went near the ball after that!

What's so funny about that DA, she must have been on aids...did you see that dudes hair?!

I really got stuck into the bloke that day, someone had to though, who dyes their hair orange? It was quite funny though b/c the next weekend i was sitting in Hampto's living room and guess who walks in...Stoney, the man with the hair! Actually a good bloke so i take it all back...loves a billy. A funny funny day!

Hampto does love working on his pipes, his re-enactment of the De-Ron incident was rather humerous!
