This may be an unprecedented move but is there a GSFL club that would be interested in a trial match on Saturday the 2nd of April at Goolwa Oval? It is the week prior to round 1 and after a cancellation we would be looking to play a full card eg juniors through to A's. I cant remember a GSFL club v GSFL club trial match but I dont see any reason why it cant be done, it would actually a lot more convienient that travelling miles. If you havent got one organised and want one, it will be hard to organise because a lot of leagues start that week. PM me if interested

Few guys coming back a few lads havent played for a year and some are quality footballers. A real mix of blokes that are very keen (eclectic if you like). A few lads with a Morphetvale connection as stated on this forum and a few from elswhere.

Cant tell you too much as we are only 6 weeks into preseason so a lot is unknown. A different look Mclaren though I would think in 2011.

if there any good they will be straight into there b grade . cos mclaren dont believe in having there strongest players in a grade . :(

and with all our B graders in the A grade, we still finished above your A grade last year!! =)) =))

bahahaha! very good hftb :ymapplause:

Firstly, Im not a supporter of McLaren in ANY way but gastev you are a muppet and should sincerely consider logging off and creating a new account so you can start from scratch because as it is you've completely discredited yourself and your club. Furthermore Im beginning to think you may actually be simple; no reply necessary.

yeah totally agree smarty... maybe he could try a name like bloodroo or even rooblood

Went for my nightly walk last night
Watched a group of lads doing their preseason
They were working their butts off, and their coach barking instructions at them
Asked the question, what club you from
Goolwa was the reply
There was about 13-14 there so if the rest at Goolwa are working as hard as they are, they will certainly be fit come round 1
Looked up their previous results and not that flattering
Good Luck Goolwa, and will certainly be keeping an eye on your results

They have had about the same amount since about mid January and are working pretty hard. They might find it a bit more difficult next week with another football club on the oval.

Would that be pretty standard for Goolwa to have about 15 travel from Adelaide?

Little bit different this year, with Adelaide based players, uni students, guys going to trade school etc we thought it was a good idea to have a training up there. A lot more convenient and better for recovery etc. The Adelaide boys will be training with phos Camden 1 night per week during 2011

Same program for local boys where the numbers look to be good (a lot better than some clubs I have seen but on par with others). We expect to improve, I would think winning 6 -9 games would be a big step. Sneaking in to the top 5 would be good but it's hard to see who can replaced from 2010

Happy to hear Goolwa will improve (as will the overall standard as it seems most of the bottom 5 from last year are working hard to bridge the gap). Certainly lots of ins, and search this site for mention of the coach and he is certainly well credentialed and spoken of.

current player points has been updated on sportingpulse:

http://www.sportingpulse.com/assoc_page ... sID=199681

Not sure how accurate it is. eg says 16/2/11 in the file name yet I see chris jurek wasnt cleared till the 17th but is on the points.

few points there LF! As you said, some might just be B graders I guess.

22 to be precise, but Hank is a 0 pointer so that will bring it back to a more manageable 20

I'm sure there are plenty of clearances still to be lodged for some clubs. Though maybe Bays havent got them actually signed yet - this from the President:

"In order to be more competitive in Senior ranks, our recruiting team has been very active and have covered many of our deficiencies. I won’t mention all the new players as the list may alter before the season begins, but the signing of Ken McGregor – ex Adelaide Crow, has been a coup. Ken is involved in coaching at Glenelg so can only play for Encounter Bay when the SANFL program allows, but hopefully we can select him for half the games.

More players mean more depth, so players will have to be prepared to work hard to guarantee selection."

Honestly couldnt tell you, i have no idea with player personnell at this stage, had great numbers on the track so far so i see no need to discuss possibles and maybes... I will know for sure when the clearances are put up just like everyone else.. I wait with anticipation just like all GSFL followers. On a sidenote tho, it looks as if all the GSFL clubs will be alot closer this year!! Finals spots will be up for grabs big time goin by the quality of some other clubs Clearances so far!! Cant wait!! Bring on Rnd 1 !!
